thats still on topic and talking sports...the basketball thread was the same **** during the games and very little between. sdpm puts up the lineups and updates the standings and such Ive given information, bababui has, we've answered questions...you can come in after a match and comment yourself theres no obligation to simply read everything thats been said.

The spam in this thread is just overwhelming because people are using the thread like IRC. I am indeed curious why there aren't more other discussion threads for real discussions.

To be serious..during the matches it is exactly like IRC...Ive always imagined it like being in a bar and watching with friends...only without having to wear clothes

I gotta agree with this and I'm a HUGE NCAA hoops fan. It was all in good fun, I don't really see anything wrong with it.

Why do you see the need to make a pre-emptive strike against people accusing you of piling up post counts? Why is there a need to bash whoever might take post counts seriously?

It's not about obligations. It's just that the information are too diluted so it's less incentive for people to read.

He's whining? I think he's just commenting on the fact that this thread doesn't really worth reading through because you have to get through pages of spams just to read one or two interesting posts. That's how he feels, and that's also how I feel.

And IRC can be fun. I guess what I'm saying is that this is a forum and a forum is great because people can come back after the fact and read everything that was said and reply to it. But if they have to wade through pages and pages of one line commentary on something they've just watched, well, are they going to bother? Even if there are some nice insightful posts in this thread, it's not worth wading through it to find them. Thus, all detailed conversation on the WC is pretty much stifled.

Now, before the feathers start ruffling, I'm not saying this thread should be closed or whatnot. You fubes are obviously having some fun with it, and I'm not the type to get in the way of that even when my personal preferences differ. I'm just saying, maybe there should be another WC thread that is not so spammy. Maybe this thread, what with it being "official" and everything, has stopped other, more serious, threads from being created.
