The St. Louis River Walkers have announced the signing of 31-year-old second baseman Marcos Francis to a four-year contract.
Francis, a two-time All-Star and MVP of the 2034 World Series, accepted a deal worth $15.5 million per season in 2036 and 2037, which is followed by a player opt out.
If he remains in St. Louis, he will make $16 million in 2038, while the 2039 season includes a vesting option where he must play 145 games in 2038 to earn his contract for 2039.
Francis came up with Grand Rapids in 2028 and helped the Traders win the World Series in 2034.
His batting average for a 162 games is .264 with 25 homers and 83 RBIs.
Francis spent the 2035 season in Rockford, where he hit .253 with 18 homers and 76 RBIs.

The St. Louis River Walkers have announced that right-handed pitcher Angel Tiburcio will miss up to nine months with a torn rotator cuff.
Tiburcio, 35, suffered the injury while pitching in a spring training gam against Springfield on March 13
The injury will likely end the career of the three-time Cy Young winner.
Tiburcio is in the fourth season of a five-year contract he signed with St. Louis before the 2033 season.
Before that, Tiburcio was one of the best pitchers in the game, winning Cy Young awards 2028, 2029 and 2031.
He suffered a torn labrum during the 2030 season, but bounced back to go 10-9 with a 2.88 ERA to win his third Cy Young in 2031.
He was eventually forced from the St. Louis rotation in 2034, when he went 9-10 with a 5.23 ERA.
Tiburcio pitched out of the St. Louis bullpen in 2035, and was a respectable 2-1 with three saves and a 4.54 ERA in 47 games.
In his 11 seasons in St. Louis, Tiburcio went 83-67 with 3.65 ERA in 299 games/204 starts. He also posted four saves.
St. Louis owns an option on the 2037 season, which there is no question it will not pick up.
