thanks for the notice and the kind words. plus giving some of these teams a back story i think adds to the connection the creator of the logo and even anyone who uses it. this is why i love this thread, the retro style harkens to the mythology quality of baseball. yes the miami beach tropics, i will also do a miami tropcs as well, i think it was a fitting name to that region. but back to the salt mines, more logos and back stories to come. also anyone who would like to use any of my logos to make jerseys or caps, feel free to do so, also my logos are all on photobucket. |

This thread just keeps getting better and better!
Every day when I check it out, it's like a visit to a candy store/baseball card shop was when I was 10. Thanks so much to knuckler and txranger for your hard work and your beautiful, beautiful designs. |

knuckler and txranger -- First, let me applaud the great logos and uniforms you two have put together in this thread. I recently started a historical/fictional league with Federal League and Negro League teams, and I am looking to use replace the graphics I have with what you two have put together.
It looks like you have covered almost every team, but I have noticed the following not yet done (at least I couldn't find them in a search): 1. Caps/Uniforms for the Baltimore Terrapins 2. Anything for the Bacharach/Atlantic City Giants Is there any chance that I could request these be done in your fine fashion? Thank you both for all of the wonderful work you contribute to this community!

Carolina United/New Orleans Pelicans/Havana Lions
Carolina United Baseball Club
Every July 4th the town of Carolina City (fictional) would hold an all day baseball game that ended with the annual fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July. The city was unique in the fact it was in both states, divided right down the middle. When the local team would tour through the both North & South Carolina, but Georgia as well; they were known as The Carolina United Baseball Club. ![]() New Orleans Pelicans After Shoeless Joe Jackson quit playing he went and visited his old Minor League Team, the New Orleans Pelicans. Since he knew that his named tied to anything baseball related would be met with much disdain by the commissioners office. He in secret campaigned for New Orleans to be admitted as an expansion franchise to the American League. Sadly baseball in New Orleans would remain only in the minors until 1969 when the proposed Houston franchise had to be postponed for several more seasons. In a slight panic mode, a franchise was awarded to New Orleans to be named the Pelicans. In 1974 they wont the AL Pennant against the Baltimore Orioles, and went on to win the World Series. They would go on to win again in '77, '78, '83, '84, and '85. They set themselves as an American League dynasty. ![]() Havana Lions In 1942 the Lions Athletics Club of Havana decided to put together a baseball club to take on other teams from Cancun to Miami. While very successful due to being made up of the best players in Cuba, their home city rarely got to see them play. They spent long amounts of time going from town to town playing exhibition games to make money in order to build their own baseball park back in Havana to draw in teams to them. News of their success all along the Gulf Coast and Bahamas did keep Cuba very interested and proud in their home team. It was finally in 1993 that the MLB admitted this franchise into the National League with the addition of the Florida Marlins. This rivalry quickly turned into the best in all of baseball and produced 8 World Series champions from 1997 to 2010. ![]() |
