Eugene, when did the five-man rotations become common? I'd like to set my strategy modifiers to a time before they become common, if possible, in terms of having a standard maximum rotation size of four pitchers. And I'd like no more than ten or eleven full-time pitchers, if that, on a typical 25-man roster, normally, if possible.

Financials I might allow to evolve periodically, if not always, of course. But I really don't like five-man rotations, and I'll want to generally avoid them in periods where they're commonly used, in any of my dynasties, even the more modern or futuristic ones. Please advise. Thank you. CD out.

CD, I am not a baseball historian... teams in the 40s and 50s used 4-man rotations... that's the era that I like to play... that's when I first started following baseball (1950s)… teams usually carried 7-9 pitchers with 4 starters and 4-5 relievers.

5-man rotation began in the early 1970s... OOTP will put 10-11 pitchers on a team.

I have found that OOTP always put 9-10 pitchers on a team even when I select the season in the 1950s... if I try to limit it to less, the AI would just overrule my decisions when I turned roster control back over to it to simulate the season.

Pick a year in the 1950s as the season you want your stats to be like.

That should get you a 4-man rotation.

Okay, I think I'll start with 1950, or thereabouts, even though it's not actually the 1950's then, technically, due to the fact there was no year zero between 1 BC and AD 1, of course. The first season should likely have all fictional players, but then historical players should enter from then on, I think.

Not sure if it will be a random debut league just yet, and I probably still need to do a few more teams' caps, at least, before the teams can be created and all. Logos, I may have to see if I can find them elsewhere.

I'm thinking of having two subleagues with two divisions each aligned as such, under the American Baseball Refuge Society designation, AKA the ABRS or AmBaReSo for short:

Logos will be needed for the overall league, the subleagues, and both divisions for each subleague, I think.

Imperial Garden will represent at least six historical and/or fictional major pro sports teams in the New York/New Jersey area.

Pennsylvania will represent at least three Pennsylvanian historical franchises.

Ohio, both historical MLB Ohio-based franchises, at least.

Chicago, three historical Chicago franchises, at least.

Texas, both historical MLB Texas-based franchises, at least.

Missouri, three historical MLB Missouri-based franchises, at least.

Florida, two historical MLB Florida-based franchises, at least.

Boston, two historical MLB franchises, at least.

All other teams will be representing either historical locations for certain major pro sports teams, at least, or be fictional, most likely.

I hope to be able to finish at least the uniforms for these teams very soon, if not also the caps. As for logos, we'll have to see what I can find and all in the meantime, because I don't plan to make any more public requests for a good while yet, until I've written up at least one or two more chapters of my story sufficiently well.

I am going to have to probably write one or two more scenes for the current chapter, and then chapter nine will probably require at least three scenes to be done well enough, as will other later chapters. I am not expecting to get done with chapter nine before the second or third week of June, at the earliest, in truth.

Two human-run teams are receiving trade offers in one of my dynasties that do not meet the teams' listed needs. They are getting offered players too old for the stated needs, such as players in their middle to late thirties, at least, when the maximum age set for those teams' needs are 30 years old, in certain cases. Can you ask around and see why they may be getting such offers when the needs mentioned give a maximum age of, say, 30 years old? Thanks in advance if you can do so, Eugene. CD out.

Sorry, CD... I don't use financials... that makes the game too complicated... I just set up my league and play the games and watch what happens... no contracts or trading... I just play a simple game.

Then I suppose I'll have to ask others what to do, to stop teams from offering players older than my teams' cutoffs, in that case. I wasn't talking about financials, I was talking about getting offered players who were too old for the teams' listed needs. That's all. CD out.
