CARDS, ACADIANS, EAGLES IN 3-WAY TIE
After yesterday's action in the South Island First League three teams are tied for first place with 2-1 records... Claiborne, Bar Harbor and Des Allemands are all on top of the standings board.
Claiborne dealt Bar Harbor its first defeat of the season 7-4... Des Allemands hung on and beat Opelousas 6-4 and Mystic eked out a 7-6 win over Labadieville.

3-WAY TANGLE IN SI SECOND LEAGUE
The South Island Second League is a feast for fans with trio of teams deadlocked for the first place... Chitamaca, St. Dominic and Meraux are all sitting pretty on top of the standings... that's the good news... the bad news is they are just one game ahead of the last place teams... you could go from the penthouse to the outhouse very quickly in the early phases of the league.
The South Island Second League fans were treated to three one-run ballgames yesterday... Chitamaca squeezed by Bayou Bleu 6-5... St. Dominic nicked Delacroix 2-1... and Meraux outscored Guedon 8-7.

S'been awhile since I spun the turntable for you... it's time to get you up to date on what the whole wide USA is listening to on the radio in March, 1952... Kay Starr was on top of the Billboard pop chart with "Wheel of Fortune" and Webb Pierce had the number one country song "Wondering".

For all you young 'uns... Louis Nye used to say "Hi Ho Steverino" on the great Steve Allen Show... Nye, Don Knotts and Tom Poston played "The Men in the Street", a recurring skit on the TV show.
Nye played a character named Gordon Hathaway.

and it was yours truly, EC, that said that opening line on WYNK each day to open up the DC RC Sippers Association Radio Program... if you could call it a radio program.
Strangely and sadly, DC never was as famous as Louis Nye, nor as famous as Gordon Hathaway... but I was big with my mama, relatives and friends in my home town of Upper Peachtree, Alabama... if you're wondering where Upper Peachtree, Alabama is... it's just a mile north of Lower Peachtree, Alabama.
I was also quite popular in Bayou Goula, Louisiana, too.

My air name on the radio was Danny Church... was a DJ for 32 years.
My radio shticks were "sipping on ice cold RC Colas, eatin' Moon Pies and playin' Baton Rouge's best music".

Also told jokes about my big 267 and one-half pound mother-in-law.
Things like: "my mother-in-law is going on summer vacation and giving me a well-deserved two-week break... she's going to Paris Island to teach the Marines how to fight dirty!"

JOLLY TIME FOR JOLIET IN NIRL FIRST
This weekend in the North Island First Division Joliet rolled to its fourth straight victory... the Green Giants are unbeaten so far... they got by Avalon 3-1 yesterday afternoon at home... second place Kofa rang up a 4-2 win over Jackson... and last year's division winner Dutton got its first victory this year, defeating New Yerby 6-4.

It was a record-setting day for the North Island and South Island Leagues.
164 views today... the old mark was 134.
An average day is about 115 views.

FIREBIRDS, MUSTANGS TIED FOR 1ST
There were runs galore on the North Island Second Division scoreboards yesterday as the hitters went on offensive tirades against the hapless twirlers.
When the blistering bats cooled down, Kinston and Stockdale were on top of the standings with 3-1 marks... the Firebirds blitzed Union Heights 9-5... the Mustangs massacred the West Chester Comets 14-2... and Theodore walloped Wafford 10-8.
