One of the main reasons I watch less baseball is because I can't stand the analysis.

Why am I hearing post game more about Gausman's "mistake" to Raleigh instead of the fact the Jays only had one hit after Springer's dinger? If you want to create goats instead of heroes, why not zero on the biggest factor instead of minute ones?

Well, it's not like Bryce Miller is a slouch(12-8, 2.94 ERA, 171 K, 180 IP) in 2024

However, in 2025, Bryce Miller has a negative WaR, a 5.78 ERA and a WHIP over 1.4

In his five previous starts, Bryce gave up 2 runs in 4.1 innings to Detroit, 4 runs in 4 innings to the Dodgers, 3 runs in 5.2 innings to Colorado, 3 runs in 5 innings to KC, and 4 runs in 5.2 innings to the Angels, with the Mariners losing all 3 of the games against contenders.

So I agree that the Jays probably should have done better, Bryce's efforts aside.

Yeah he's had injury issues, which obviously aren't a problem anymore. Should the Jays have done better on offense, maybe, but year in year out injuries aside the Mariners have one of the best pitching staffs in baseball. So I wouldn't expect it to be a one game thing.

My point is, why zero in on one pitch as if that lost the game, instead of the 27 outs in 29 AB's? If the Jays get swept giving up one HR a game to Dumper and averaging 2 hits a game themselves, which is the biggest reason for the sweep?

Jays had a team travel across the countries w/an "s" in about 36 hrs after using up 7 pitchers in an emotionally draining winner-take-all game. And instead of breaking into their bullpen and really putting siphon into the relievers energy for the rest of the series, they allowed them to rest up & get back on schedule. That is a huge opportunity blown. Not just for Sunday night, but possibly the entire 7 game set.

And they are going to over analyze a split to a guy w/60+ HR's as the mistake of the game??!?? Come on, man! Sorry. If my starter made only one noticeable mistake his entire appearance, my offense has gotta get me more than 2 good swings. That is what the focus should be on.

Just saying right now, if I'm the Brewers or the Dodgers I do not want to face Seattle in the World Series.

Really! I have never seen that play before. Anybody who did not see it live, try to find a replay.

Bases loaded with Dodgers, one out. Muncy nearly hits a homer to center. Frelick gets it in his glove but it bounces out, hits the wall, then he catches it. Live ball.

He throws home to force the runner from third, and the catcher walks down to third base to force the runner from second. Double play! All the Dodger runners thought it was a fly out. Weird.

EDIT: Actually, Frelick hit the SS with the cutoff throw, and he threw the guy out at the plate. Hence 8-6-2. That runner knew the play was live but the other two Dodger runners did not. The guy on 2B stayed there, and the runner from first actually ran back to that bag. May this be a good omen for the Brewers!

Craziest thing about this play is it is called a GIDP. Make it make sense.

Have to tip my proverbial cap for this one. Blake Snell was amazing.

Rough loss for the Brewers, Basically, it was Snell + Freeman. Brewers gave it a good shot in the ninth, came up just short. Tomorrow's game is a must-win.

Wow, it sounds as though the Mets just found their new 3B coach. Mike Sarbaugh couldn't have been more useless.

(And believe me, he tried…)

Unfortunately, the juxtaposition of that inspiring play with a close loss at a home is a bad omen in my mind.

Watched Game 2 of the ALCS from the archives now, and while the game was not much of an event after the sixth inning, thank heavens for the extremely competent broadcasting duo in the booth there, giving you all the tips on how to cut a Thanksgiving turkey you ever could have dreamed of WHILE THE GAME WAS GOING ON.

(froths from the mouth)

Just how would we be able to live without the Fox schmocks??

You make it sound like we must be okay with this.

I do not want to be okay with this.
