Yanks hit four solo homers in the first, then give three runs right back with a multitude of errors.
Baseball is so back!

And yes, the Yankees put the exposure stamp to Nestor Cortes, revealing him to be the mediocre pitcher that he really was all along. He used guile for a while to appear successful, but it appears batters around the league have figured him out.
Sure, they gave up most of the lead right away in a sloppy game, but I will settle for a 20-9 final score, thank you.

Also, Judge was like three feet away from the 19th 4-homer game in MLB... and then couldn't get the fourth bomb off a Jake Bauers lampoon either. Such an overrated hitter ![]()

1969 was also the year that my dad and I saw a DH with the A's and Royals. First one went 13, and the second 12 innings. Most MLB I have ever seen in one day. Last edited by dsvitak; 03-29-2025 at 06:01 PM. |

I was watching and terribly regret putting Cortes on my PT Live roster today...

Well, it's only one game (you hope) and the Yankees are AWESOME! (Their fans hope.)
Baseball in March lends itself to conditional clauses, I'd say. |

With regard to the Yanks game, I had no idea they were using brand new bat types... see the article. "Torpedo Bats"

Here is a better look at those bats.
If they are legal now, it's only on technicality. They will be illegal soon, I would think, because it's just too obvious a cheat. Yes, cheat. https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/y...der-mlb-rules/

"Technically legal" is the best kind of legal, like "technically correct" is the best kind of correct.

Move over Barry, your 73 homer record is in serious jeopardy.

I find it shocking that MLB doesn't already have regulations on bat density and such. If nothing else, it would be easy to spot players with the "Sammy Sosa" (cork) model.
Then again, considering that it's MLB, I guess I don't find it that shocking, after all. |

I am just excited the Yankees are hitting! Of course I had to remind myself they did hit the Brewers well last year. I worried about our cobbled together rotation.

Brewers fans (low?), forgive me but this gave me a chuckle.
![]() Yankees slugger Aaron Judge intentionally walked with bases empty but Brewers' trick immediately backfired The guy behind him, Jazz Chisolm, hit a home run. So far, it's "Juan who?"

Those bats are gonna get banned. If MLB lets them keep it, Judge is gonna hit 127 homers by July, and then pitchers will just shrug and throw the ball over the wall themselves.

People want to talk about the bats, but let's be clear here, half of our pitching staff is out and it's showing.
