I picked Ian Kinsler to be rookie of the year. Just wanna point that out.

A's better not lose this game.

Yay for bad umpiring taking calls away from the A's!

Sometimes I really think umpires don't give a **** what the actual call is, they just want to do an excited out call. Now Melhuse can call for a strike and, like, not catch it.

I'm kidding, but that call was bull****.

It was a close play. I wouldn't call it bull****, but just a bad break.

(Assuming you're referring to Melhuse sliding into home.)

He was safe. He was called out. Thus, bull****.

It's a bad call regardless of how difficult the call was. And now, because Ian Kinsler is a stud, the A's are gonna lose.

Maybe they'll let Cordero pitch.

Well, hopefully the Karsay experiment is over.

Maybe the A's can swindle the Cubs. They actually have a solid bullpen this year. Howry would look very good in the A's pen.

That really sucked. I'm glad I'm going to be gone for the next couple of days so I won't feel compelled to watch.

Harden might only be a week to 10 days away:
Quote:
Manager Ken Macha said that Rich Harden will throw a four-inning simulated game Saturday and throw about 60 pitches. Because the goal with Harden is to get him ready to throw 75 pitches, that means he could be back in a week to 10 days, with perhaps one bullpen session and a rehab start following Saturday's activity if the team continues to proceed cautiously.

Can someone explain to me why the hottest hitter on the team is out of the lineup tonight? I can't see any logical reason for Thomas being on the bench tonight.

You said it yourself. You have to rest the guy! See Macha is taking your advice and you are still bitching. Guess Macha can't win for losing.

Ok, let's not be stupid now.

There's a difference between resting an injured, slumping old player on a day game after a night game and a healthy (though he is still a risk), hot player on a night game after a day game.

If you can't see the difference, please, stop watching baseball forever.

You said it.

There's a banging-head-against-the-wall emoticon somewhere, isn't there?

You protect your players who have health issues, especially when 1/3 of the team is already banged up. Thomas is 38-years-old in a couple weeks. Kotsay has a history of back trouble. You sit them a game here and there in May so you have them during August and September. The reason the A's missed the playoffs last year was because of injuries. No need for that to happen again.
Macha is just protecting his players. Don't want to risk injury, again.

It's people like you who cause people like me to get warnings.

I'm just pointing out what you said. You do rest them here and there to preserve them for later in the year. Just like you said. I'm putting in an early vote for Macha for Manager of the Year. Just for comprehending this concept.

This is probably the worst lineup of the year.

J. Kendall c
N. Swisher lf
M. Kotsay cf
E. Chavez dh
B. Kielty rf
B. Crosby ss
D. Johnson 1b
M. Scutaro 2b
A. Perez 3b

Bobby Kielty hitting 5th against a righty is priceless, as is Kotsay 3rd still.

Kielty/Crosby/Johnson/Scutaro/Perez is quite possibly 5 auto-outs in a row. W00t!

And Perez at 3B with a sinker ball pitcher on the mound is yucky too. I hope nothing is wrong with Chavez.

Macha's problem is he likes to rest everybody all at once. What results is a 5-9 that rivals the lineup of my little sister's softball team.
