Long-time Boston Red sox starting pitcher, Ike Delock (1952-53; and 1955-1963) reaches the Wikipedia 100 oldest living MLB players list at #100.
At 88 years, 11 months of age , He is the only person on the list who is under 89 years old. (birthdate: 11/11/1929).

"He was called up to the 1960 Cincinnati Reds (who had acquired him after the Philadelphia Phillies finally left him off their 40-man roster) in September, but rode the bench and never appeared in a game. He did however have a baseball card in the 1960 Leaf set portraying him with the Phillies. The photos are colorizations I did. The Reds photo is from a b&w photo from the Lexi files the Phillies photo is a total mock up that I did. Note he was a Red in the minors only. I used to write for a newspaper in Northern New Jersey where I covered a few summer American Legion teams teams and one of their opponents was a team Fred Hopke coached. He coached baseball for Hillside High School (Union County, NJ.) for a number of years, perhaps for decades. . It's a shame that the Reds or Phillies never gave him a chance in the majors. He was in The Bill Sharman Society', I believe - meaning - he had a few days time on a major league regular season roster, but never got in a game. There is a 1960 Leaf card of him with the Phils, because it was anticipated that he'd make the team, but it didn't happen. The card was unusual because it was shot in black and white. Mr. Hopke was well known throughout the area. One baseball card store owner had a Fred Hopke 1960 Leaf card framed on the a store wall. I asked about it, but It was not for sale as the owner knew Mr. Hopke well. I covered an American Legion team during the summer in 1986 for a weekly newspaper based in Roselle Park, NJ. That team, with virtually the same personnel had gone to the State High School finals, but lost. I met Mr. Hopke briefly as the coach of a visiting, out-of-area, opponent's American Legion team. It's sad to learn that he's passed away.

The Mochis, Sinaloa. October 24, 2018 (Andrey Fuentes / Club Cañeros) .- The afternoon of this Wednesday, the legendary player and former manager of the Cañeros, Don Benjamín "Papelero" Valenzuela, ceased to exist.

Due to his great career, Valenzuela has been recognized countless times by Cañeros and other teams and organizations. In 2007 the greens distinguished him as a personality on the 45th anniversary of the organization and in 2012 he was named "Best Manager of the first 50 Years of Cañeros".

On October 10, 2016, the number 14 that he used for most of his career was withdrawn, a number that since then has been on the "Emilio Ibarra Almada" stadium fence, recognizing him as immortal of the Los Cañeros de Los Mochis organization.

This Wednesday, October 24, it ceased to exist in earthly form due to renal failure. Don Benjamin is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yolanda Gámez, and seven children.

Looking at the Wikipedia Oldest Living Players List today I just realized that Eddie Robinson nearly completed the circuit among American League teams that existed during his major leagues career
(1942, 1946-1957). He played for 7 A.L. franchises, but no National League teams.The only A.L. team he didn't play for was the Boston Red Sox.
Born December 15, 1920, he is approaching his 98th birthday.
Here's how he ranks among living players in age:
1st: Yankees, Senators, Tigers, Kansas City Athletics.
2nd: Indians, Orioles.
3rd: White Sox, Philadelphia Athletics
6th: Major leaguers.
In Addition he is the last living member of the 1948 Cleveland Indians Worlds Champions.
An outstanding first baseman, he is a four time American League
All-Star: (1949; 1951, 1952, 1953).

Hall Of Fame First baseman, Willie 'Stretch' McCovey (1938-2018) who passed away yesterday at age 80, was a Four Decade MLB Player with his career spanning from his July 30, 1959 MLB debut ('59 Rookie of the Year, despite being in the majors for only the final two months of the '59 season) to July 6, 1980, (where he retired at the '80 all-star game break.) A 22-year major leaguer (1959 to 1989, 19 of which were with his beloved SF Giants (1959-1973 and 1977-1980). Member of the 500 home run club.
Oh, if only he had lifted the last pitch of the 1962 World Series over Yankee, Bobby Richardson's head. IMHO the better team lost that year.

Nov. 8: Today is 3B/OF/PH Wally Westlake's 98th birthday. (1920-). He is believed to be only the second player in Phillies team history to reach the age of 98. Only SS/INF Alex Monchak is known to have lived longer (1917-2016) 98 years, 191 days (about 98 years, 6 1/2 months of age at the time of his death early in 2016.) Westlake hit .272 lifetime over a 10 year MLB career: 1947-1956 and was a 1951 National League
all-star. He had three seasons where he hit more than 20 home runs: career high: 24 and had two seasons where he drove in at least 90 runs: RBI career high: 104 RBI. He also hit 11 home runs coming off the bench for the 1954 Cleveland Indians, which set records in
Wins and winning Percentage (111-43, .721 Win %.).

Paul Foytack, an under 6 foot tall righthanded starting pitcher who spent all but his final year in the majors with the Detroit Tigers turned 88 last week and he has just been added to Wikiepedia's list of the125 oldest living MLB players at the bottom spot of #125. Foytack was 86-87 for his career (1953 to 1964) and while never AN ALL-STAR, he certainly must have received some all-star consideration in the late 1950s WHEN HE HAD A FOUR YEAR PEAK WHERE HIS VICTORY TOTALS WERE IN THE TEENS EACH YEAR. From 1956 to 1959 his won-loss record for the Tigers was (in chronological order) 15-13, 14-11, 15-13, and 14-14.
