Stan Hall will be recalled in a few days to get his first IBL start. If Rogers is out for any length of time I am inclined to give Morgan a shot too. I expect both to be in my rotation next year and it's late enough in the season that I'll likely not make them super 2's with this late of a call up. 8/11 CHI 9 SI 4 Coates 4-6 4 RBI's (60) Chavez 3-5 2B leadoff HR (28) SB (39) Zamora (10-11) 7-5-3-3-0-7. The Races with 20 to go
With about 20 left it's going to be hard for anyone outside of 5 back to get in. The Empire is New Yorks for the 4th straight year. Brooklyn and Buffalo are going to battle for at least 1 of the WC spots. Green Bay and Columbus will be in the mix for at least the 2nd spot as well.
El Paso would appear to have the West sewn up, but they are in a free fall right now. The Keystone could be going to the wire once again. The Bulldogs are without their closer for another 2 weeks, and Baltimore slipping has allowed New Hampshire and Philly back in. The Lone Star will be a fun one to watch, both are VERY good teams but do NOT see each other anymore. Tulsa has Dallas 9 times, while San Antonio has them just 4, with a majority of their games against Houston and Corpus Christi. Vegas would appear to be in line for their first division title since 2016, LA is holding down the 2nd WC spot, but not by much. The defending world champs are on the brink of falling out of WC contention. |

Team records
Luis Chavez is having a pretty special year. Right now his .351 would be the highest single season average in club history. Ernesto Gutierrez hit .347 in 2015. Eric Coates is at .346 right now as well.
Chavez's OPS is 1.036, trailing Hugh Collins 1.076 mark in 2016. His VORP is 93.3, trailing Hugh Collins 2016 season again, when he had a 95.4. He has set the single season runs record, at 135, passing Hugh Collins 2016 season of 134 yesterday. His 200 hits are 12 behind Bill Alexanders 2014 season and he's 53 total bases behind Alexanders 393 of 2014. He also tied the single season SB mark at 44, with Hugh Collins 2014 season. On the pitching side, Ken Lee and Roberto Martinez are 2 wins from Walt Thompsons 21. Lee has tied Thompsons single season SHO mark with 3. Martinez 3.32 trails Thompsons 2.91 and 2.97 marks. Lee's 207 IP is 21 behind Mike Davis' 228 of 2012. Gerardo Zamora has allowed 33 HR's, 1 behind his own record of 34, set last year. |

Races!
San Antonio drops a 7-0 week to take control of the Lone Star while Tulsa manages to clinch at least a WC berth. The Keystone is going to the wire!
The FL WC seems to be locked up with Green Bay and Brooklyn, and it's anyone's guess who's going to take the 2nd spot in the Coastal. Chavez is battling Rolen for the batting title in the FL, with Coates barely hanging in. Two good HR races too. Chavez has been sitting on 44 bags for what feels like forever, the next one is a club record. Roberto Martinez has had a hell of a season. And in other news, I am going to make one last bid to sign Hugh Collins this week, and it's going to be painful. It might force my hand in paring down the payroll this winter. |
