I am starting to feel like the king of the stiffs, but I do like having interesting names and faces at the bottom of the food chain rather than the faceless tomato cans.
Here is one not quite so stiff, he at least has a pulse. Ableit, a shallow and irregular one: FRANKIE DALY BW Hometown - New York, New York, USA 9(1)-27-2; 7 NC Daly began his career with a 10 round win over Jack Sharkey (BW). Although Sharkey didn't assemble a great record, he did go on to beat Kid Herman and had several title shots over his career. Unfortunately, that was the best win Daly had, in fact all of his victories came within his first 15 pro bouts. He was however a tough trial horse who was only stopped once in 45 pro bouts by a fellow named Young Houston. The list of boxers that tried and failed at stopping Daly is quite impressive. Frankie lost decisions of ten rounds or more to Lockport Jimmy Duffy, Memphis Pal Moore, Abe Goldstein (4 times), Johnny Buff (twice), Kid Wolfe, Kid Herman, Kid Williams (twice), Frankie Genaro and Kid Roy. EDIT: Actualy, he is pretty stiff and I'm not so sure about the pulse after all

EDOUARD PTAK LW
Born - Berlin, Germany Hometown - Bordeaux, France 41(12)-18-2 The German born Ptak fought out of France where he assembled an impressive record early in his career. He won 37 of his first 39 bouts including a ten round decision over Elis Ask. The last 22 bouts of his career saw Ptak fall apart against better European competition. He went 4-16-2 over this stretch losing to Lahouari Godih, Jose Hernandez, Marcel Ranvial, Mario Vecchiatto, Annibale Omodei, Victor Pepeder, Jean Sneyers, Fernand Nollet and Fred Galiana. Despite the poor finish, Ptak was only stopped four times.

California lightweight was 11-11-6 against mainly Los Angeles area club fighters but did face a young Maxie Docusen and Mario Trigo near the end of his 5 year career. He lost to both.

Thanks Sal for Terry Marsh. And everybody thanks for all the other fighters.
Does someone have a file of late 80's WBC Bantamweight Champion Miguel 'Happy'Lora? |
