Yes, I like to see games and seasons settled by human beings, rather than robots and after-the-fact tie-break mechanisms that, presumably, go all the way down to a coinflp, if need be. (The NFL's do, I know.)

Here is my philosophy, FWIW: I state my opinion and you state yours. We disagree, perhaps, but I don't try to convince you that I am right and you are wrong. It really does not matter.

I may discuss the issue further, but I cease when I realize that I have said everything that I had to say and further discussion will begin to be repetitious and contentious. If silence is construed as acquiescence on my part, I shrug.

But above all, I do not descend to name-calling and personal attacks. As a result, my ignore list has been empty for years now. (Although one fellow irked me recently but, recalling my own philosophy, I stopped myself in time.)

Yes, this beat-down has gotten old. I was going to stick with this game but I think instead I will switch over to Yankees @ Blue Jays at 4PM. Of course, now the Cubs will come back to win their game 10-9 in the most thrilling game in postseason history, but that's the luck of the draw.

The acrimony is what killed OT, which I have been trying to revive. I would hate to see the same thing happen to Talk Sports. Please give it some thought. Does all of that matter, really?

You tend to carry debate too far, trying to win points, and he gets too excited. Both of you should relax, in my opinion which I hesitate to offer but I will do so in the interests of all of us. Let's all get along. Life is way too short.
