in historical mode if I choose FHM engine development then, for example, Lemieux or Orr won't be affected by their real life injuries(disease) ?

Can you in your next update when you watch the game make that away team has white jersey or whatever away jersey they have and home team still has dark jersey?
And I think a good addition could be when you try to trade with other teams they always say it's close ornot even close but what if they could counter offer and negotiate to know what they want?

I apologize if this has been answered already. If I buy from an outside website (Amazon specifically), will I also receive a Steam key, to activate through there as well? If not, if I order through OOTP, does it come with a Steam key as well?

Thank you.

Thanks for confirming, Jeff. If you or anyone could help with the remaining questions, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Coaches and scouts limit

Thanks a lot Jeff. Nice to know, time to sign some more assistant coaches!

They'll still have a tendency to get injured more often than the average player. But not necessarily with the same type of injuries they actually had.

I don't know if it'll be in the next update, but improvements to the jersey handling for facegen are definitely high on the wish list.

Counter-offers could get a little complicated to code, and be potentially frustrating if the other team keeps altering the deal you want. We'd have to think carefully about doing that.

Amazon, yes, that's a Steam key; directly from us, no, the licensing is handled via eSellerate instead of Steam.

There's no specific setting to scout impending free agents, the free agent one will only look for currently-unsigned players. But it makes sense to have one, I'll see if we can add an additional option.

Rights Available simply filters out all the players whose rights (in your league) belong to another team, so as an NHL team you could use it in the way you mentioned, or look at junior players who were passed over in the draft, or minor leaguers who are signed to AHL/ECHL teams, etc.

Since this is the quick question thread..... can I ask all ....

is this a good idea? Although maybe more difficult to code

My thinking is that having some kind of option in the league rules for uniforms .....

and so the game would have it set up as dark/light instead of home/away .....

And this would be nice with historical play especially since these customs have changed in hockey ...

and I am sure many other leagues around the world have different customs ....

possibly, and less necessary, have a third option .. ( first two .. choose home-dark, choose home-light ) third option maybe soccer-style.... the guys would have code some kind of color recognition so the game can know the color of the sweater to know when the teams' colors are too close .... maybe some european leagues have this custom in hockey as well ... but not really necessary, unless it is indeed used in several euro leagues perhaps

So quick question? how is this for an idea? and see this : http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ark-light.html

Editing a Schedule File for a Fictional League

As I've mentioned in other posts, I've found that the 78-game schedule for an 8-team (0 Divisions, 0 Conferences) fictional league makes no sense for a number of reasons.

I found that schedule file (G78_T8.xml) in the schedules folder. If I backup that file, then edit the original file to have each team play 42 games (3 home and 3 away vs. the other 7 teams) instead of the 78 games, will FHM 2 work okay or will it have a fit?

From work I have done with another PC hockey game (Action PC Hockey), I know exactly how to lay out the schedule I want.

Thanks!

All good ideas, but we need to walk before we can run, so we'll aim for the basic functionality first and then maybe look at adding detailed options like these.

My guess would be that it may work in the first season, but you may see oddities in later years in some modes as the game does some randomization of the schedule from year to year so it's not identical. I'd run a few quick test seasons to find out before you try it in a long-term game.

I am part of a multi-player league and want to create my team file to upload. An important part of this will be the tactics I am looking to set for my lines, yet the 'Templates' section and 'Actions' drop down menu on the tactics screen are both greyed out for me and cannot be accessed. What gives?

In commissioner mode you should be able to create a new player.

Are you saying that we CAN edit the schedule in this manner? I guess you'd have to edit the appropriate schedule file before starting a new save for this to work.

I'm saying it may work, but I can't guarantee anything. You'd have to be extremely careful, and there could be unforeseen problems - errors in later years, game updates overwriting the edits, etc.

At the moment, only the predefined tactical templates can be used in multiplayer. We do want to expand that to allow full editing, though.
