There goes my first sweet 16 in Iowa. Well worth the finish though.

I'm frickin 12-8 overall right now which has to be my worst start ever yet I'm probably in better shape than everyone in my money pools because I somehow have managed to not lose a sweet 16 team so far.

Cool, I'll take Iowa up by two with NW St. shooting three FT's, then Haluska (80%+) shooting three at the other end.

Yes. They shot the lights out, Arkansas shot about 55% from the line and they still barely scratched out a win. Memphis will roll them.

I lost three games this morning, but the Iowa one was huge for me. I have WVU beating them in the next round, so I just need WVU to come up big. I've only lost Marquette/Seton Hall so far for the sweet 16, but I've gotten a crap load wrong in the first round.

It would be Northwestern State up by 1 shooting 1 free throw (which he could use to kill the clock)

No, NW St. was down by two when they shot the three, which is why they won by one point. If they made the first two free throws, they could kill the clock with the last FT...but then it would go to OT.

Im saying the player that made the 3 was fouled when he shot it...if he makes it he gets the chance at the 4 point play

aslf is saying that the NW St player was fouled WHILE making the 3 pointer... I couldn't see on the screen, just clarifying.

This afternoon slate of games is key for all my brackets. The SIU alum/homer pick is always an achilles heel, but I'll live with it...but I have both Memphis and Nova going pretty deep either S16, F4 or even to the title game...so I'd hate to lose them out of the gate.

I've got the Hoyas winning on 2/3 of my brackets, and NIowa on the other one as an MVC-love pick.

Ah...I figured if he would have fouled him during the shot, he wouldn't have made it...I don't think he fouled him during the shot. It looked like there may have been contact, but it was before the shot. I don't know; we'll have to see replay.

Either way, a great shot and a great finish. Welcome to March!

So, how many correct picks do you need to actually win something like ESPN/CBS?

These are big for me as well. I'm assuming the #1 seeds win, or else everything will be screwed, but the other two are big. Georgetown is an Elite 8 team for me, so if they lose, things will look dire for my bracket. In the other game, I have Southern Illinois whereas most people I know have West Virginia, and a lot have the Mountaineers to the Sweet 16, so this would help make up some ground and offset the Iowa loss if S. Illinois wins.

Not a good start for the Hoyas though, down 5 early.

I picked Northern Iowa over Georgetown and Ohio State. Considering my luck this year, I'm nervous.

I dont think either was a foul...thats why I said if Iowa was fouled, Northwestern State was.

What is the style of the game looking like? Is the SIU pressure "D" bothering WV so far or are they getting good open looks?
