I find the idea of hope in someone else's misery strangely misguided - something you dont seem to get. especially since you didnt read my subsequent mea culpa to GGH on what I may have misinterpreted.

Sure, I read it. Along with your jabs to Jax and subsequent butthurtedness. Your posts read like a kid lashing out when someone hurts his feelings.

If Barry were a quitter, his back afforded him every opportunity to ride the DL last season. You don't become the greatest player in baseball history by backing down from anyone or anything.

Jax is a jackass - hardly news. You are't aware of some of the circumstances behind the crap I've gotten from him (including being called a "white elitist" when he was pretending to be black), perhaps you best understand them rather than acting as if you know what you're talking about here.

I don't need to understand them, and I don't need to act like I know what goes on between you two. I just need to understand that any little personal quarrel you have with him is not an excuse to act like you did and type what you did. Take it to PM. Hell, take it to OT even.

Read over it when you cool down from this Bonds thing, and I think you'll agree that you were out of line.

Yeah - I think LeBatard pointed out how bad that back was. To think about how well he was playing with a back like that is amazing- imagine if he was healthy. ****, greatest player we'll ever see in our lifetimes, and people are more interested in dragging him in the mud.

Oh well- 4 months of Pedro feliz and the Dodgers taking the West- this year and the forseeable future. I expect Sabean to be gone after 2006 - to the Mets or Yankees by then. And the late 90's Giants of almost 100 losses will be back.

And yet you pull it out here instead of a PM yourself - follow your own advice perhaps ? I'm perfectly calm (thank you for the concern)- I don't like hypocrites, liars, and idiots- no matter what the circumstances.

A significant percentage of genius talent are asswipes. Whoop-de-fooking-do. I'm never going to hang with any of them, so I don't give a crud.

Ted Williams....check.
Ty Cobb......check.
Babe Ruth....check.
Pete Rose....yeppers.
Mickey Mantle.....yep.
Steve Carlton....indeedy.

The list is endless. Indeed, the king of sabermetrics, Bill James, can come off as an asswipe. His wrongheaded, ignorant lambasting of Dick Allen has given the wrong impression of this great player to a multitude of readers. Sloppy research is thine name Mr. "Pete Rose is Innocent" James.

I pulled it out here because I was hoping for you to apologize to all of the folks (other than Jax) who had to read your inappropriate comments. Also, to show others who look like while reading this thread that they are not alone.

If anything gets personal between us, I will take it to PM. As it stands, I am more interested in discussing board conduct than personal conflict, and the former is an issue that deserves cognizance by the rest of the board members. It's part of "policing our own."

Hmm- I thought I was in a fair minority on disagreeing with James regarding Allen - other than at primer. Yeah- Bill is a prick, but he's a knowledgable prick, and thus worth listening to.

As for Williams and co- I agree- but trying selling that to Joe Fan- who seems to think that saints worked the earth before, when they played for the "love" of the game. Baseball spent so long insulting its product and whining about how the past was better- your average fan started buying it. But that's another rant.

My "inappropriate comments" - roffle - I don't take kindly to insults from people who have displayed their idiocy in the past - and I responded in kind. Your attempts at pontificating or policing me require one to have a certain amount of cachet or influence with the party at hand, neither of which you have with regards to me.

So I have to have influence with you to tell you that you are wrong or breaking the rules?

Wow.. jax cracks a racial joke and everybody jumps all over Aadik? Am I missing something here?

As to the on-topic discussion, Happy Peter is a pretty useful player but he's a marginal starter at best and probably around replacement level or worse at left field. It'll take a lot of luck to stay in contention for whatever amount of time Bonds is out.

No, but when you attempt to lecture me, you aren't likely to be taken seriously by me- and given that I am to be the "target", one would imagine that it would save you the time.

Aadik and I have had our troubles in the past, but I agree with UD here. If anyone, Jax should be the one apologizing, not Aadik.

Edit: Not that Aadik needs me defending him or anything.

Lets see Aadik says I need to go make up a kid (I guess he thinks my pride and joy isn't real), I make fun of him because he isn't smart enough to get a real job. I don't see where race comes into play. Someone needs to get a sense of humor and stop whinning.
