Swamp dragon, yep he was undefeated (with those ratings it's easy yo see why!).
Luckily for me, there are some really good articles on Barry at Cyberboxing and at the International boxing hall of fame sites. He really was a fantastic fighter who could really do it all. He was never the same after killing an opponent and the vast majority of his draws come after this event. rgds Dean |

What Next?
As well as my ongoing 1960-62 rating project I am going to rate some of the great forgotten black fighters of the early part of last century (for example like the recent rating I gave of Black Bill).
Using the Caramel Covered Kings website and other sources I will rate the following guys who are currently missing from the game. Heavy Frank Childs Middle George Cole Larry Temple Jack McVey Welter Young Peter Jackson Dave Holly Rufe Turner Eddie Palmer Arthur Stignall Light Steve Crosby Leo Johnson Leo Patterson Feather Harry Lyons Chick Sugos Danny Edwards That should keep me busy for a while! If there are any other particular black fighters of the period I have left out pls let me know and I will add them to the list. rgds Dean |

Great idea, Dean.
Can't believe Barry and Duane weren't already in, but thanks for rating them. They're definite adds. Per our discussion yesterday, check your e-mail.

Here are some fighters for the Strawweight/minimumweight division...a greatly ignored division...nobody spectacular but some fighters to flesh out the division.
Hideyuki Ohashi Japan - Strawweight Boxrec - 003621 fought from 1985-1993 19 wins - 5 losses - 0 draws (12 KO's) fought 4 fighters featured in the game...lost to Chana Porpaoin, was TKO'd by Ricardo Lopez and lost twice by TKO to Jung-Koo Chang. He KO'd Jum-Hwan Choi. Some of these fighters appear as Junior-fly in the game but at those low weights there is a bit of jumping. I got good results with these ratings. CtlB-7 CtlS-7 HP-6 ChKD-5 ChKO-1 Rec-5 Cuts-2 AP-3 KI-6 Agg-7 End-8 Def-(2) FS-2 on ropes-1 DP-2 Cond-2 Int-6 Prof-10 FI-2 FO-1 Coverup-2 Go for KO-2 Clinch-68 Slugger Fouls-Seldom Punch-34 Counter-36 missed-62 overall rating - 4 jabs- 15/2 Hooks- 17.25/4 Cross- 17.25/4 Combo- 16.75/3 uppercuts- 17.5/3.25 Kusuo Eguchi - (Left-handed!) Japan - Strawweight Boxrec - 013442 fought from 1989-1997 14 wins - 11 losses - 2 draws (5 KO's) fought 2 fighters in the game for a total of 3 fights....all losses. He was KO'd by Andy Tabanas twice and lost a unanimous decision to Ernesto Rubillar. He also fought his brother Katsuaki who I will post at a later date. CtrlB-7 CtrlS-6 HP-3 ChKD-5 ChKO-5 Rec-5 Cuts-1 AP-3 KI-5 End-7 Def-(6) FS-3 Onropes-3 DP-1 Cond-4 Intellect-4 Pro-10 FI-1 FO-1 Coverup-1 GoforKO-1 Clinch-69 Type-Either Fouls-Seldom Punch-34 counter-34 missed-63 overall rating-1 jabs- 19.5/1 hooks- 18.5/2 Crosses- 18.5/2 combos- 17.5/1 uppercuts- 18.5/1.50 I've got lots more...just finding the time to post is difficult...But once I have my IPBA universe in full swing...I'll definately post more. But I felt obligated to get something out there with all the great work everybody else is doing. Enjoy, Ras

David,
that's a great project and will be really useful in fleshing out some divisions of the time period. Anyone else? the great thing about dividing up the work like this is that we get so much more accomplished. rgds Dean |

Rasmuth;
I know there's not enough time in the day, but ... 1. Post him (Adelman) if you've got him. 2. Check your e-mail re:fighter ratings. It's set. 3. And about that Ron Stander referee rating ... LOL! Seriously, I appreciate your efforts. Keep up the good work.

Ok...Ron Stander the referee...Hard to tell from one fight. But he did do a nice job...even though the decision by the judges was bull****!
