God they all look AMAZING! I wanted to fix the Boston logo but i deleted the templete. Glad you could fix it.
My fav logo is the 1930's of the Bridgegrooms. That winking guy is awesome.

Boy, Henry...you got yourself some fine logos.
Really hard to pick a favorite. Narrowed it down to: Brooklyn 50's...Brooklyn 1900's...Excelsiors w/red diamond...SDP's Pastime Club...your first Pastime Club...Jeff's 30's Pioneers...Yellow/Black Keystones...Boston Beaneaters... I guess I like them all. Last edited by Eugene Church; 10-03-2003 at 01:33 AM. |

Henry now I could use some help, suggestions. Im thinking of doing a solo league similar to this one, starting in 1901. Will use some of these logo ideas, but now Im starting to work on a period skin. So far have just worked on the defualt pic and the logosmall, below you can see them plugged into one of my skins. I would like to modifiy the rest of the skin to get a feeling for the early 1900's. Any suggestions.

I happen to have a couple of metallic skins that need to be finished up. They're based on the Dark Blue skin and I don't know how to change the text colors.
I could post a screen shot if you'd like a look. |

Okay, here is my thought on a 1921-1940 version of the Troy Haymakers. The ring around the baseball is intended to remind one of the heady visions of the future that were typified in the World's Fairs of the late 1930s

LGO,
Hot Damn !! (opps, did I say that ?? LOL) That is an excellent logo for the 30's... love it !!nmleague, You've got a good start on the skin for your league... wondering if the "grey" bars, though, shouldn't have a slight copper tone to them? Also, the background pic is great - can you get it centered, or maybe find one a bit wider so the pic shows on each end of the window ? |

Henry, here is my small tweak of the first Excelsiors logo. I put the text in a different place than you did, though I do like your idea as well.
I've got a Pioneers logo in the works; I still want to take a crack at a Pastime logo as well. And then there are two logos for some other folks I want to try... ack, I need to have more time or work faster!

Some changes. I made the picture a little bigger and centered it, I purposely let the sides the underlying color. Put a sphia tint to all skin pieces.

nmleague,
Much better Very polished !! The new design gives me another idea though... in the grey area up top, something like one of those old "tintypes" with a basebal park or something like that ? (It's possible there's something there now, but the small size doesn't make it obvious)

LGO,
That I like !! I think the font you used fits very well, and I'm leaning back toward your positioning rather than mine... time to update my choices again LOL |

I agree about the gray area at the top, actually there is a picture there of turn of the century mines in the area in which the league is based. To make it fit it had to be stretch and distorted, then I turned the opaque down. But it is easier to see in regular size.
But the idea was to get a local period scene or period BB park in that spot to add character to the league. Will probably try some other things. Henry if you have a early 1900s BB park panarama type picture, I would try it there. Oh and I was thinking of placing some water spot images for character in the dark areas on both sides of the main picture.

Whew... finally done 'em. Here are two variations for the Cincinnati Pioneers. I think I like the second version better, but I'll post them both for your consideration.
And in case anyone's wondering, no, that covered wagon is NOT clipart. I built it myself, based on some old photos of covered wagons I found online which I used as reference. Took forever too. But I have to say it came out really nice.Anyway, version one is below. |
