on settings, I selected real historical transactions, real IL transactions, real historical lineups..but DID notice that , under historical year, it says 1970 for some reason...could that be an issue? I changed to 1969

under functions /settings I set "all teams to controlled by me"

thinking more about things, could issues be secondary to fact that I started this specific game in 66 and have carried over to multiple OOTP versions?

I don't know what to tell you. But having "1970" show up instead of "1969" probably indicates something went haywire.

ok, not sure how it works, but is there a chance those guys pop up later in the game? they both didnt pitch IRL until September....can people pop into the game later? If not, I guess I need to figure out a way to get them in there?

One common denominator for all these players is Montreal, which entered the league as an expansion team in 1969. I don't know if that's a clue to what went wrong, but it might be.

Jestadt and Reynolds did not play in the major leagues in 1970. So, your league, when it (inadvertently?) jumped to 1970, might've made those players vanish.

is there a good way to get them in the game? What if I started a new game of 1969 on OOTP 26....can I somehow copy/paste them into my league? Or something similar?

clicked import player; it says I had success, but he is nowhere to be found, in rosters free agents or search

I don't think the issue has to do with the import across game versions. The changes to focus on were the 1969/1970 thing and that maybe the "all teams to controlled by me" is conflicting with brining players in. Is this the first season that you are on 26? If it is you can backup the 25 version of the game under a different name, load it, reimport the game under that different name into 26 and not change the year... and then compare. So, I'd try and isolate that variable.

If you want to start investigating the game already in 26 first, first thing I'd do is backup the game since if the next steps solve something, you'll want to go back to that restoration point.

Then I'd take off the "all-teams-controlled-by-me" and try reimporting them. Or advancing a day with it off and see if they show up. Since you know when they first played a game from baseball-reference, I might advance to that day and see if the real lineup forces them into the game.

So, variations like that to test what did it and isolate the issue would be my approach.

1- For most/all players the Playoff stats are missing partially/completely. No playoff stats past 2021 in any of the games (Standard, Quick, Custom, LiveStart) i have started.

2- LiveStart-Games show mostly accurate and up to date Player and Team stats however the Games Started are blank/zero.

I believe the live start data comes in daily from a third party provider and if GS isn’t showing, it may not be part of the feed. I don’t think GS are loaded into the database until the previous season’s real lineup file is built.

Thanks Lukas! This has never been something that was happening ever until this version 26. I have been playing since the very first version and creating players and leagues for on-line historical and historical/fiction leagues since V7.

It's never happened before that a player who was primarily something else came in as a DH, like Catfish Hunter a HoF pitcher being listed as DH.

I have a long running league that I use the import from a text file created through the major and minor league database to bring in historical rookies each season. I've done the same thing now for 20 versions and this is the first time that all 1,104 players were ALL created as a DH.

I submitted that same thread seperately. I'm concerned because I have tested forward several months and done 6 manual re-scouts and they are still showing as DH, even though the have position ratings based on historical statistics. I use career for that purpose, first time this has ever happened.

It's these kinds of things and then throw in the V25 development cliff that was destroying players careers by age 23-27 that the 70-80 guys I know through 5 on-line leagues are all questioning what the heck is going on.

I found another instance of a stray '049' Negro League ID: Joe Royal is in the MiLB database as royal049joe when he should be royall000joe (with a major league ID of royaljo01). Also, Dizzy Royal (royal-000diz / royaldi01) does not seem to be on the database at all.
