For anyone interested in below....

- For my own personal 2025 season I plan to start this weekend I have both the Rays and Athletics in brand new stadiums. I guess I don't have the patience to play games in minor league parks the next few years for both of them

Attached links below are from our talented OOTP board members that have shared! Ribbon Vegas for the A's I've done my own small updates for green and gold color scheme in ballpark. For the Rays, Ybor City Stadium will be my go-to.

Both are fantastic 3D ballparks! Both are also unique domes that are "clear" that would seem to be great to shield from the rain/heat/humidity in Tampa, and against the desert heat in Vegas, but also allow in plenty of sunshine for day games.

If you do opt to use these parks in your OOTP world for 2025, I would NOT give the teams the extra $15M in cash discussed in thread above.

HOPE EVERYONE ENJOYS 2025!!!

Question about this new release. You mentioned previously about updating Service time and player options. You mentioned you updated 1500 players. Was wondering did you at least update players on 40-man rosters, and perhaps in AAA? This is one of the things that has bugged me especially with players that have options left when they should not. Most players below AAA, if not on 40-man have not used options, so not as big a problem, but players in AAA often have used options. Just wonbdering who has been updated for Service time and options.

I did an update query in my database from Fangraphs depth charts. They have an “Opening Day Tracker” that basically has the 50+ players expected to be at Spring Training for each team. Those are the 1500ish that were updated. I spot checked a few to ensure updates correctly.

Also let me know if you see multiple examples of AA or lower with options used that are not legit. In one of my updates in November or December I tried to catch majority of those.

Thanks for this. I really appreciate your hard work.

Will let you know if I run across multiple players at AA or lower where options are not correct. Would think most players at lower levels have not been on 40-man, so never used options, unless they recently got added.
In which case they would be going to Spring training now and be updated.

This is amazing. Do you (or anyone here) know if there’s a way to get some MLB teams to effectively utilize a 6 man rotation without making it the league default? Obviously Dodgers are the big one here but a lot of teams are moving that direction so was just curious if anyone has figured out a good way to make that happen across some of the league, if they have the arms to do it. Thanks!

Yeah good question. I have Dodgers set up for 6man, but once the cpu AI takes over it defaults to 5 man :/

I wish this option was more of a preference at the coach level so could be implemented. Maybe in OOTP26?

Dumb question, when I add the stadiums for the Ray and Athletics, the Ray's stadium I add just fine, but I can't seem to find the Ribbons stadium in any of the leagues, any suggestions?

Help Downloading

I’m so sorry for asking for help. I’m a MAC user and I’m brand new to this. When I go to “Application Support” I don’t think I’m finding the correct file. There isn’t any file related to OOPB or Saved_Games.

A few more small (but recommended) tweaks:

Guaranteed Rate Field will be called Rate Field now.
Minute Maid Park was renamed to Daikin Park.

Triple-A OKC Baseball Club is now OKC Comets.
Double-A Mississippi Braves are now the Columbus Clingstones.
High-A Hickory Crawdads are now the Hub City Spartenburgers.
Low-A Down East Wood Ducks are now the Hickory Crawdads.

ATL retired No. 25 for Andruw Jones.
NYM retired No. 16 for Gooden, 17 for Keith Hernandez, and 18 for Strawberry.
NYM will retire No. 5 for David Wright this year.
SEA will retire No. 51 for Ichiro.

Great callouts - I’ve implemented all of above. Will be available in next release. Hoping we see Bregman, Alonso, and Flaherty sign soon as the last few remaining impact players.

Sorry if this was addressed, but does it seem like pitchers' MPH attributes are a lot lower in this update? All the draft and international free agents are in the high 80s, it seems like.

I’m in 2027 of my save, so a few years in, where I’ve started noticing it. And it’s for almost everybody.

Is there a tweak in the settings I may have made, that I can switch back?

*** UPDATE ***

Hey gang my next update will be out soon! As we are only a few days from February, in my file I’ve placed the below free agents to projected teams. In most cases it was a fit + budget + team needs. For instance I have Jack Flaherty projected to resign with Detroit based on his comfort there in 2024 season, team need, and he’s still in the market. I’d rather do this proactively than see the remaining free agents sign with a team that has not been connected at all.

For instance I suspect in real life there is zero chance Alex Bregman would sign with the Marlins….but that could happen in OOTP. I tried my best to put on the GM hat for everyone as we near the start of 2025 and Spring Training.

I feel JD Martinez to Seattle, and Max Scherzer to Washington are a bit of a stretch and not based on any rumors. Seattle however needs offense and Fangraphs has Mitch Haniger as the starting DH. Martinez is a big upgrade over Haniger. Scherzer has been tied to multiple teams but in my scenario a young Washington Nationals team comes calling to bring him in for veteran leadership and rotation stability.

If you disagree or do not like, the list of updates is below so you can edit them back to free agents if you wish!

CBL projections/placements for remaining 2025 Free Agents:

Also... trade settings set to the lowest setting. Adjust to whatever you like.
Once you select a team, make sure to set all CPU teams to enable AI moves.

Glad to share my passion with my OOTP friends!!

EH. I never say never, but feel we are close enough the majority of impact Free agents have signed that I’ll probably start my own season with this roster.

Happy 2025 everyone!!
