![]() Curse you, Chipper Jones, for never having been Rookie of the Year! Still my best result at 7/9 and 350 Rarity.

Ha! I got past Splitter! And 22 is a new personal best!
I grant that the Tigers ROY choice was for the Birds and a Kuenn-er choice would have saved crucial points, but given how boxed in we were by the MVP category (and how little agony I went through, for a change), I'm rather pleased, overall. (That Kelleher was pretty sweet, I gotta say.) |

I don't think I'm going to top a Rarity score of 1, unless you get below 0.5 and it rounds down to zero. Thank you Immaculate Grid for having an all-team grid.

Yeah, this was sweet. Not just all-teams, but no teams newer than 1969, so I can grab those rarity points. And four of the six have relocated, so I can see "Twins and Orioles" and think "Senators and Browns, yay!
Only a few disappointments: McNeely was .004% when I chose him. Damn bandwagon-riders pushed him up higher before I could lock him in. I'm annoyed I had to resort to Boyer. There should be a Brooklyn/Southside combo I could have hit. Torrez, I couldn't remember if Joe Kerrigan (who went the other way in the deal) had actually pitched for the Birds or simply been their property. Sox/Spos was my last square and I was second-guessing myself something fierce, not wanting to miss the 1% score because of a mistake or because I chickened out and went for Raines or something that bad. I was like "Did Bryan Little play for the Expos before they traded him? Was Wallace Johnson really on the Sox?". Eventually I remembered my 1980 Avalon Hill game (still have it), ran through the Expos in my brain and clicked on Bahnsen and was done. (And I am deeply chastened over Vail, as a Mets fan. I remembered that we sent him to Cincy and that he was with the Cubs in 1980 [his Avalon Hill card is pretty sweet], but I completely forgot Montreal. And this is a man who held a Mets club record! Sigh.) But yeah, party city. ![]() (Pets Westie.) Last edited by Amazin69; 07-23-2023 at 09:24 AM. |

Yeah, you went the easy route and you paid the toll for AJ.
I am shocked that Crime Dog cost you 0.4, however. I don't recall either of those stops. Only TOR-SD-ATL-TB, not the farewell tour. Huh. (I don't even recollect if he saw the field as a Yankee, before the Exceedingly Foolish Trade of 82.) Good job on that one. Last edited by Amazin69; 07-23-2023 at 10:27 AM. |

Rarity Score 24. This was a struggle. It took me a long time before I hit enter for Rays 300 save closer, as I couldn't remember with certainty if he had played for them. Then I looked at the available player pool for some of the categories after I was done and felt a little bit better about my score.

125. The saves were the death of me. Tried to get cute and discovered that Smoltzie didn't do enough relieving to qualify. Feh.
OTOH, I saw something I'd never seen before: Am I literally the only one to pop for Del Pratt? A borderline Hall candidate? A man who got MVP votes, which is pretty good considering that there was no MVP award for much of his career? Huh. |

Grid 114. I flipped a mental coin between Tony Fernandez and Olerud for 200 hit Jay, and it cost me 37 of my 41 rarity points.
