After losing 6 on the road the San Jose Raiders were hoping their trip to Oklahoma City to face the Triplets would be more to their liking. Manager Mike Moore made changes to the line up again.
SP Efrain Ramirez CF Mark Tice DH Hugo Arias SS Enrique Huerta RF Alex Robinson 1B Alex Soto LF Min-Kyu Yoo 3B Mike Lentz 2B Tony Patton C Scott Ha The Raiders got off to a solid start when Alex Robinson led the top of the 2nd off with a solo effort that went 372 feet. This though was to be the Raiders only joy as the came back at them. The bottom of the 4th saw the Triplets get 2 runs. Robert Ginder hit a double to lead off. He was then bought home when Kurt DeSalvo hit a 2 run homer 352 feet to give Oklahoma City the lead. Oklahoma City Triplets made things worse for the Raiders in the bottom of the 7th as they added 3 more runs. Steve Gill got a solo effort to go 404 feet to make the score 3-1. Tolentino Vitor hit a double to move to second. George Jenkins then walked to put himself on first. Jonathan Davis then came in and hit a triple to bring both Vitor and Jenkins home and make the score 5-1. The Oklahoma City Triplets added a 6th run in the bottom of the 8th as Edgar Diaz hit a solo effort 364 feet. This was the Raiders 7th loss on the trot and one that has started to knock some confidence in the team. You can tell when the batters are coming to the plate there isn’t the swagger that was there earlier in the year and a hesitation. The Raiders continue to drop back and now have a record of 31-33. |

This allowed the Raiders hitting to survive their own struggles right into the top of the 9th. The top of the 9th saw the Raiders add 2 more runs to their slender lead. Mark Tice singled but was picked off at first. Enrique Huerta got a walk. Min-Kyu Yoo then singled that allowed Huerta to run by second and sprint to third. Alex Robinson bought Huerta home on a single while Yoo followed Huerta’s example and went passed second and ran to third. Mike Lentz then hit into a ground out but this allowed Yoo to come home. This made the Raiders lead 3-0. for the first time in a number of games the Raiders could turn to Seth Fiebelkorn in the bottom of the 9th to try and win them the game. Fiebelkorn gave up only 1 hit as he did his work and picked up save number 16 for the year. This 3-0 win broke the Raiders 7 game losing streak and moved them to 32-33 for the year. The batting is still struggling but hopefully the team will get confidence from the win. |

The final game of the 3 game series against the Philadelphia Thunder saw both teams trying to win the series. Manager Mike Moore made more changes for the game.
SP Bobby Montes CF Mark Tice 1B Hugo Arias SS Enrique Huerta DH Min-Kyu Yoo LF Manny Jaime C Scott Ha RF Alex Soto 3B Mike Lentz 2B Tony Patton The game turned into a tough on for the batters as both pitching units kept them out for long periods. In fact the only run of the game came in the bottom of the 3rd. Nick Sobczak got a walk. He moved to third when Pedro Islas doubled but was then out as he tried to head for home. Islas made third from this throw. Connor Gilley then hit a single that saw Islas come home. This gave the Philadelphia Thunder the only run they required to take the game. The Raiders are now at 39-37 for the year. After the game the Raiders announced that Mark Sofka was again fit and would be re-joining the squad. This saw Alex Soto drop back to the reserve squad. The team travelled back home for a 3 game series against the St. Louis Roughnecks. |
