Still crashing

I am continuing to see crashes on my Mac with OS 11.4 and version 22.6.56 of OOTP22. Almost every time I fire up the application and start to play out a game in 3D, it crashes at some point during the game. It happened just now in the bottom of the first inning of a game -- and it was the first game I played since starting the app today. No other apps were running, and games in the background were off. That was a test because I was consistently getting crashes like this when background games were on. So that factor does not appear to matter.

I've posted traces and game saves a couple of times regarding these crashes, but I've seen no indication in this thread that this information is being used, so I'm going to stop providing this info for now.

This doesn't happen all the time but occasionally, seems most likely late in the game.

Random crashing is extremely hard to pin down. It's not that aren't looking at/using the info you've posted, but unfortunately it does not include anything that's helped up track down where the crashing is coming from.

Probably in your case, the best thing will do would be to send an email or open a ticket with support (support@ootpdevelopments.com) so they can work with you directly and walk through the typical troubleshooting steps to see if it's possible to narrow down where the issues are coming from.

Every time I try to load a saved game I get the message that their aren't any but they are in the folder. See the pictures.

I have tried re-installing the game but got the same. I then tried uninstalling/re-installing but got the same.

What do I have to do to fix this?

Random crashes are unfortunately just unsolvable at times in spite of our best efforts

They can come from so many different factors and be influenced by so many different factors outside the game itself that they're impossible to pin down.

Hoping someone can help me with this problem. I think one game in my schedule got corrupted. Something wonky happened when I was changing between managing two team. I was able to play all the other games scheduled for this day but when I tried to play this one game the program just closes. So I deleted the one game causing the problem, now when I go to Finish the Day, the program shuts down. No message, it just closes. I have followed the steps suggested by OOTP but it still does not work. I am running the game OOTP 21 on a PC on a downloaded copy. My PC is running Windows 10. I did run a debug too, so I have that info if it would help. This game is my daily stress reliever and I feel a little lost not being able to play, any help would be great. I have also sent in a ticket to OOTP.

Hello, all of a sudden my franchise won't load. It says it can't load because it is from a previous version of OOTP, but this isn't the case. I did import a few months ago, and have been playing ever since. Please help!

Does anyone else have issues with the game locking up horribly during real time sims? Any solutions for that?

My league loves this feature but sometimes I can not even close the game without ending the task (which loses all the progress).

ANSWERS I NEED EM!

I've not heard of anyone else with a similar issue. If you can get us a trace file from when this happens, it might have some useful information.

Just make sure to grab the trace before you restart the game.

This is a new one. My monitor had to be replaced. It was connected via DisplayPort. This replacement monitor (lesser quality) is connected via HDMI.

OOTP 21 and OOTP 22 will freeze on the main screen after a few minutes. I am able to enter tournaments and then when I come back to the program, it is frozen. Nothing is clickable and the PT clock is frozen. It was fine yesterday until I changed the monitor. I can't switch back to the other monitor because it wont turn on.

I turned off 3D and turned off the steam overlay.

Windows 10 Pro Version 20H2 Build 19042.1165 64bit
Intel Core i7-3770K (Old and still ticking)
16 GB RAM

Hi, I'm getting following error message when I attempt to load my game.

"ERROR
OOTP cannot load this database because it has been created with an earlier version of OOTP. Please use the button 'Import OOTP 21' to import the database."

After I click "OK" the following message appears:

"Error!
The loading of the database failed. It is either corrupt or a save-game from an old version."

This is a save game from an older version. It was created with OOTP18. I purchased OOTP19, OOTP20, OOTP21 and transferred it thru each of those versions until transferring it to OOTP22.

How do I import it from OOTP21?

When I click on the button "IMPORT OOTP 21 GAME", what am I supposed to click on next?

When I try clicking on "world.dat" the following message appears:

"OOTP cannot import this saved game because it was saved with OOTP 22. This version of OOTP can only import saved games with version #21."

What do I do to fix this?

I successfully played the game on version #22 for several months, which is why it was saved with version #22.

Since I bought OOTPB22 on release date I have only played Historical Franchises. The last 2 days I have tried starting a New Standard Game but cannot get through the initializing process. At some point it just continues to load and i the dreaded "not responding" error. It only occurs when trying to start a new game. Have no problem continuing a game or loading a saved game. Just cant start a new standard game.

I successfully played the game on version #22 for several months, which is why it was saved with version #22.

I was able to resolve my issue by doing the following -

After loading the game, don't use "CONTINUE GAME". For some reason that no longer works. Instead use "LOAD GAME" and load most recent saved version of my game that is saved.

I don't know why this is, but I'm quite happy my game is working again!

I had some major problems getting the program working on linux, but was able to get it going. Let me know if you want feedback or if other people are having problems on how I was able to get it working.

Hi guys,

Been playing my game since it came out. No issues except some choppy gameplay which I have been dealing with. Played yesterday, no problem. Tried to load it up today and the game won't load. Immediately after initializing, the game freezes on the initial load screen. Tried rebooting, no luck. Tried uninstalling and re-installing, still doing the same thing. Tried running off of C drive instead of D drive, still not working. Nothing has changed with my computer since last night as far as I know. Running windows 10, brand new MSI gaming laptop. Please help!
