Missing Draftees
Bought game on Steam. Attempting historical simulation 1900 forward. Have drafted at least four players in different years that completely vanish from the game after I draft them. I am able to sign them through the negotiation screen but they do not appear on my reserve roster when the season starts.

Eddie Gates (gates-001edd) is yet another African that the database claims as "Caucasian". Pics in the Complete Universe thread.
Thanks. |

Ichiro Suzuki's stats show that he only started 13 games each season from 2001 through the first part of 2012.

I've just loaded a historical game in 1969 to look at the Seattle Pilots roster, inspired by a recent re-read of Ball Four, and noticed that Jim Bouton has a weird pitch arsenal. At least, weird from the perspective of someone who knows very little about him other than the book.
He throws: Curve, Change, Circle Change, Knuckle Curve. The main crux of the book is that he was pretty much a Knuckleballer in 1969, with a poor fastball and a worse curve that rarely got used. Maybe this could be looked at? In-game Bouton doesn't throw any kind of fastball at all but has two different changeups, which is just weird. Last edited by monkeystyxx; 06-27-2021 at 05:56 PM. |

The Neyer/James Guide to Pitchers also says Bouton relied "almost exclusively" on his knuckleball beginning in 1969.

In my 1971 Replay, for some reason the minor league schedules seem to consist of a few games in April, playoffs, All Star Game, and that's it. Season over. When I try to fix this, I can't change the schedule because it's not the preseason. I tried going in and resetting the league calendar to go back into 1971 preseason, with a regular season start date in the future. The game does not recognize that, and still prevents me from rebuilding a schedule. I found that I could schedule individual games and series, so I have methodically gone through and created AAA schedules with ten-game series, home and home, for all the Pacific Coast League, International League, and American Association teams. It is pretty laborious doing that by hand. Is there any way to reset and start the lower minor leagues over with a new schedule? No idea where the three-game regular season glitch came from. Not something I would have brought about.

These "Caucasians" are a plague upon the land.

All of the ethnicity issues reported here have been fixed in the master db now, so should be right in-game next patch. Any others you find, please keep reporting them and we'll fix those up too.

Thanks for your work.
Minor League SS Tony Dwayne Walker (b. 6.27.1959 in Texas) has been mistakenly given the ID for 1986 Astros CF Anthony Bruce Walker (b. 7.1.1959 in California) and had Tony03's Major League stats appended to Tony01's minors record. Please fix? |

The problem is posted in this thread (https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...99#post4800899), but a quick summary:
1973 season, historical lineups and transactions. A player who played in 1971 but not 1972 is missing from the Mets lineup. A player who changed teams in May is missing from their destination lineup. Looking closer, there is some sort of "shadow" league where the transactions seem to be happening and the only remedy is to assign them to the correct league via the editor. If there's any way you can help, please let me know. Thanks. |

I was making a facegen for Charlie Hickman (hickmch01) and he kept looking bloated - turns out bRef has him at 180 lbs but OOTP has him at 215 lbs. Based on all the pictures of Piano Legs, he's on the thin side so the OOTP weight needs to be adjusted. Thanks!

Willie Mays is not from Westfield, MA but Westfield, AL
Hey guys,
Willie Mays is showing up as hailing from Westfield, MA. The first time I saw it I was like, "WHAT!?" because I didn't know where he was actually from. It would have blown my mind if my college town had actually been where Mays was from and there was no statue or anything like that but uh... no. Mays is from Westfield, Alabama. Attached screenshot for visual reference.

Yes, this is a known (and long-standing issue with the historical db and towns with the same name in different states. One of these days we'll sort it out, but it's more complicated than you'd think.

I'm still in OOTP21, but this may not have been corrected yet, so I thought I'd point it out:
housech01 should be Charlie F Householder, but is Charlie W Householder. housech02 should be Charlie W Householder, but is Charlie F Householder. Their names come in wrong, and presumably their facegens will too, but the stats are correct for the player's BB-Ref code. Really just a cosmetic thing, as the stats are right, but I thought it was worth reporting. I've also just noticed a blending of real life fielding stats. I only have housech02 to refer to, but he has housech01's OF stats, with 306.0 innings, all played in LF. All his other fielding stats are right (974.0 innings at 1B, 270.0 innings at C, and 2.0 innings at 2B). RL housech02 had 63.0 innings in the OF, with 2 games in LF, 2 games in CF, and 1 game in RF. I assume he picked up the rest of his innings out there in games he didn't start. housech02's offensive stats differ slightly from what BB-Ref has, but Spritze may have gotten them from a different source, or they may have been corrected by BB-Ref since they were first put in the game. It is the 19th century after all. Cheers. |

OOTP 22
I keep trying to start 2017 simulations and every time, the teams don't have accurate coaching staffs. This is the only year that the coaching staffs are inaccurate. Additionally, when starting in 1994 Chipper Jones and 2011 Adam Wainwright are free agents. I assume this has something to do with missing those seasons and it must be much more complicated to resolve, I just wasnt sure if this was something you guys were aware of. |

Lukas,
Here's one for you with regard to the "Historical Minors ID" for Eddie Bane - and hopefully just him. It's different if you look him up in a current game as a retired player versus importing him. The thread the issue is on with pictures is here: https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...=330868&page=2 Thanks for all the great work - and yes, my Greg Minton issue was with OOTP21 - glad he was shrunk for OOTP22 ![]() |
