White Sox 2, Orioles 1. The Orioles went up 1-0 on a single in the seventh inning. But Yoan Moncada scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, and Adam Engel singled home the go-ahead run in the ninth. Starters Dallas Keuchel and Michael Baumann both pitched well but neither figured in the decision.

Yankees 12, Mariners 5. Aaron Judge was a one-man wrecking crew, homering twice (including a grand slam), reached base all five times he was up, and driving in six runs for the Yankees. Brett Gardner and Gleyber Torres also had three hits apiece for New York. The Yankees lost James Paxton to injury for the first inning but didn't need much help on the mound given the offense. Mitch Haniger hit a garbage-time grand slam for the Mariners. Giancarlo Stanton hit his league-leading 19th home run of the year.

Tigers 4, Rays 3 (11 innings). Austin Meadows tied the game in the ninth inning with a two-run single. But Diego Castillo allowed a singled and two walks in the eleventh, and Jose Alvarado came on to walk in the winning run. Christin Stewart had three hits, including a two-run homer.

Red Sox 12, Royals 4. Rafael Devers, Xander Bogaerts, Michael Chavis and Jackie Bradley Jr. had three hits each as the Red Sox destroyed the Royals. Bradley drove in four and Chavis three for Boston. Everyone in the Kansas City lineup got a hit, but the Royals could only plate four runs.

Angels 2, Indians 0. The Angels mustered only four hits, but it was enough to beat the Indians. Julio Teheran went seven innings and struck out eight to get the win. Shane Bieber took the tough-luck loss, his first of the season, allowing one run over seven innings and striking out twelve.

Nationals 8, Marlins 7. The Marlins tied the score with a single by Peter Bourjos in the eighth inning and went ahead with a double by Garrett Cooper in the ninth. But Drew Steckenrider allowed three consecutive singles in the bottom of the inning, and a sac fly by Trea Turner ended the game. This is great stuff, I played my own 2020 MLB sim managing the Rays and Tsutsugo was a complete bust, hitting about .165 with 2 HR over 125 AB before I couldn't take it anymore and sent him to AAA Durham where he sulked and stunk there too for weeks.

Anyway my question is about the league news that pops up. Colorful stuff like the A's cat, and Kapler taking heat, and Verdugo getting pissed off. I never see anything like that in my news feed, it's only news of trades, major injuries, suspensions and outstanding game performances (like 3 HR or 5 hits or pitching a shutout). I went through menu after menu trying to figure this out. Do I not see this because I'm managing a specific team?

Well, they don't come up very often- I mean, I've really only had those three stories over the course of the two months. I don't have anything special set up on my settings. I assume you need to keep storylines on.

I saw an amazing one with Colin Poche in my game -- dude has 30 stamina, but expects to be in the rotation, throwing fits and bringing down the clubhouse morale when he gets relegated to the bullpen. He was traded from team to team (the Astros, which I was managing, were the third to have him), with statements each time like "it's nice to have a fresh start, but hard to leave friends behind" each time. Then, when he was traded from team four to team five on the season, he said something like "It doesn't matter to me, as long as I get paid. It's all the same thing; I just put on a different jersey." You do you, Poche. You do you.

May 28 oops!

Oops! An ill timed computer restart resulted in the games from May 28 getting deleted. So Yoan Moncada did not actually hit three homers! That's a shame. The Sox still beat the Orioles 15-1, Evan Longoria hit his 300th career home run, and Adrian Gonzalez announced his retirement.
