I don't think so.
Now - *should* he be in the game? What would his batting ratings be? 8/3/1/106/90...?

Well, what I feared has come to pass. The only team that's given us fits this season (even though they finished 22.5 GB us) managed to win the #2 WC birth by winning a 1 game playoff. They then won the WC game and we're the lucky team that gets to play them. So it's now Raccoons vs Spidermen.
My Clippers in PT19 always managed to lose in the divisional playoffs so if we can win this round, it will be my first time in PT to play in the conference championship. Edit: I just noticed that the Spidermen are very similar to my old Clippers team. The Spidermen are #2 in RA and have the #1 defense, but a very weak offense (#12 in R). This was how my Clippers did virtually every season. My Raccoons, by contrast, have the #1 offense (in virtually ever category) and are #3 in RA.

No promotion. Stuck in Iron. If I had the points stack, NOBODY would make the team next season. Quite infuriated right now. Might be time to send the entire team on an offseason vacation to the river Styx.

We managed to do something we'd not done all season - win 3 straight against the Spidermen. So we'll be going to the conference championship. I'm still hoping for a meeting in the WS with the only other (bronze level) stacked team, the Big Bats. They had an RDiff of +387 while ours was +302 so I think it could be an interesting series.

Fighting Saints up 2-1 in the divisional series in D359. Playing the tough South End Tuskers. My bats finally came alive in game 3. It's South End's Paul Splittorf versus my Bob Gibson is game 4.
Game Recap: Kaline Blasts Tuskers, Fighting Saints Take Game 3, 8-6 The Saint Paul Fighting Saints moved to within one game of the Sub-League Series today, downing the visiting South End Tuskers at Lexington Park by a score of 8-6. Fighting Saints left fielder Al Kaline was named player of the game after he was 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Fighting Saints a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series. Joe DiMaggio had a nice at-bat for the Fighting Saints with no one out in the bottom of the seventh. With a runner on 1st, the center fielder hit a double, which would prove important in the Saint Paul win. "I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Saint Paul manager mcdog512 told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Division Series, it's only going to get harder." The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Lexington Park. Slated to start are Paul Splittorff for South End and Bob Gibson for Saint Paul. Last edited by mcdog512; 04-21-2019 at 01:24 PM. |

Fighting Saints on to the NLCS. Tuskers with a furious comeback that just fell short.
Game Recap: Saint Paul Moves on to Sub-League Series The Saint Paul Fighting Saints triumphed 8-6 over the South End Tuskers at Lexington Park in the Division Series to capture it 3-1. The victory advanced the Fighting Saints to the Sub-League Series. For his superb play in the series, Fighting Saints center fielder Joe DiMaggio garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .444, scoring 2 runs and batting in 3. "Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the Diamond Level Series," DiMaggio said later. "I'll get to work on that." The Saint Paul Fighting Saints will play against the Spokane RipTide in the next round. Spokane won their series against the Long Beach Schooners 3 games to 1. The Sub-League Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes. |

Got swept by my chief rival in early September ruining my shot at winning the division, so did some house cleaning. I managed to win the wild card playoff game with Mark Gubicza of all people. This effectively set me up with my top pitchers for the division round against the aforementioned rival. I have now beaten them and look forward to taking a shot at the whole enchilada. Sometimes gold is better than diamonds.

The Aina Haina Parakeets season has come to a close, being swept by the Kansas City Royals 3-0. The scores were 1-2, 0-1, 0-2.
The Parakeets finished their season with a 97-65 record. 550 runs scored, 443 runs allowed. 2.56 team ERA, with opponents hitting .203 against them. This team was built completely around defense and it showed. .762 defensive efficiency, +118.7 zone rating and only 39 errors. The key offensive performer was DH, Willie McCovey with 38 HR and 103 RBI. 103 RBI is a ridiculously high amount for a team that scored so few runs. Pitching was led by Wilbur Wood who went 20-11 with a 2.39 ERA. This teamed is designed to have the best possible defense without considering hitting. Perhaps they have plateaued. |

Don't understand how I can have the best pitching staff in the regular season that just decides to lay eggs in the playoffs. Bauer and Verlander...neither made it out of the 5th inning. (Verlander the 3rd).
Bauer made it into at least the 6th inning in all 33 of his regular season starts and led the league with a 2.37 ERA. In 1 playoff start, he goes just 4.2 innings and gives up a season-high 6 ER. Verlander led the league in wins, Ks and WHIP. Went at least 5 innings in every game. Gave up 7 runs 1 time. Playoffs? Gives up 7 runs in 2.2 innings. Against a team that won 27 fewer games in the regular season, which we went 12-7 against during the regular season. I realize there are many factors here, but man...super discouraging to see a great team lay an egg in the playoffs again...unless we can win game 5 at home, with Stephen Strasburg at the helm.

In both 19 and 20 I've won exactly two world series.
In 19 I won a Perfect title by beating some teams way better than me. In 20 I won the Gold Series last year...it's hard hard hard....unless you are the Zorros in 19. |

Not blaming the game, either. Just...man...
not entirely unlike being a fan of the Indians sometimes...(or any team that almost gets there)

After winning 99 games this season, the Frogs came up a good deal short in the playoffs. The team was swept by the Louisville Colonels in the Gold .301 divisional round. The scores were 4-7, 1-4, and 3-6. No blowouts, but no especially close ones either.
Maybe getting swept in the final 3 games of the regular season was a bad omen? Maybe dropping 6/7 to Louisville during the regular season was, too. In any case, the Frogs will get a jump on re-tooling the team for its (perhaps-too-early) promotion to diamond level next week. Have to solve a couple of problem spots and inject a bit more offense while hopefully not compromising what was the best defense in the league. |

Saints drop game one to the very talented Spokane Riptide.
Game Recap: Spokane Open Sub-League Series with Win thanks to Johnny The Spokane RipTide started the Sub-League Series in style today, downing the visiting Saint Paul Fighting Saints at Riverfront Park by a score of 8-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. RipTide shortstop Johnny Pesky was named player of the game after he went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Pesky had a consequential at-bat in the bottom of the second for the RipTide. Coming up with runners on 1st and 2nd and Spokane trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run double. "We came out aggressive," said RipTide manager asuray. "We came out swinging the bats." Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Riverfront Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Dave Righetti for Saint Paul and Tom Glavine for Spokane. |

Drop game two also....
Ramirez, RipTide Sink Fighting Saints Again in Game 2 Riding the 2-hit performance of first baseman Jose Ramirez, the Spokane RipTide stopped the visiting Saint Paul Fighting Saints, 5-3, in Game 2 of the Sub-League Series today. Ramirez went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the RipTide, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0. Ramirez brought the fans to their feet in the bottom of the eighth, when the 26-year old first baseman ripped a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put Spokane ahead, 5-3. "We're not going to sweep 'em," Ramirez said in response to a question after the game. "Saint Paul is too good not to take a game somewhere." Game 3 is scheduled for Friday, October 21st, 2022 at Lexington Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Don Drysdale for the Spokane RipTide and Jake Arrieta for the the Saint Paul Fighting Saints. |

My #1 seed lost in four in the divisional series.
My #2 seed is down 2-0 in the league championship series. They did rally back from down 2-1 to win the divisional. My defending champions finished just under .500 and out of the playoffs. This is the team I've thrown the most actually money at. Added a lot of golds and diamonds this season. Didn't work. Heavy hitters with not enough pitching and defense. |

Looking at a sweep....
RipTide Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Diamond Level Series The Spokane RipTide are one game away from a sweep of the Sub-League Series after stifling the Saint Paul Fighting Saints by a score of 5-0 at Lexington Park today. RipTide right-hander Don Drysdale was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball. Spokane now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 series. Drysdale, who was born in The United States, threw 97 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs. "I thought we played a nice game," Drysdale told the Spokane Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there." The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lexington Park. Slated to start are Roger Clemens for Spokane and Bob Gibson for Saint Paul. |

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we're going to make it to the championship series. The Washington Justice have won the 1st 3 games, so short of a miracle, it will end here. But it was a fun season and I look forward to trying new things out in silver next season.

Washington finished us off in 4 straight and none of the games were close. One cool thing was I finally had a team make it to the conference championship. Now to prepare for next year!
