Molina wants an extension
The Cardinals front office has just gotten a request from Yadier Molina for a contract extension.
Would you give an almost 36-year-old catcher, who doesn't hit his weight and while more than adequate defensively is no longer considered elite an extension? That's an easy question to answer, why does the front office want me to make it so. Dumb, dumb, dumb. |

Reyes up; Bowman down as Cards shake up rotation
The St. Louis Cardinals have called up right-handed starting pitcher Alex Reyes from Triple-A Memphis.
He will take over the No. 4 spot in their rotation, with Adam Wainwright moving to the bullpen. Right-handed reliever Matt Bowman has been sent to Memphis. Reyes is 3-0 in five starts for the Redbirds with an ERA of 2.12. Wainwright has been horrific in his role as the team's No. 4 starter, going 0-3 in six starts with an ERA of 8.48. Bowman has struggled mightily in 2018 after a strong 2017 season in the St. Louis pen. He has gotten into 16 games, going 0-1 with an ERA of 6.75 |
