Hello..... And welcome to the 2016 USBA First-Year Player draft.180 players from 19 different countries are here to take one more step towards there dreams. That dream is the same dream that thousands of kids a cross the nation and the world dream every night,to make it to the USBA.So lets being...good luck to the teams and players.

Draft Analysis:

This year's draft contains a lot of good pitchers, which wasn't ideal for me since I stocked up on Pitchers last year.Of course, there is no shortage of talent at the skill positions,SS and CF.The surprise this year was the amount of players that can pitch and play in the field. If I were to give this class a score(out of 100)Pitchers 69 and Position Players 57 Overall,63, the class has good potential but is an average class overall.

Star Potential Breakdown:

5 - 1
4.5 - 12
4 - 10
3.5 - 7
3 - 7
2.5 - 26
2 - 17
1.5 - 18
1 - 55
.5 - 27

Ok....We have the 22nd pick in every round in this draft. To me,that means we have to make the first pick count because we won't get another in till the 50th+ overall pick.

With the first pick in the 2016 USBA draft the Fort Worth Stars select....

21 Year old CF Donald Greer

So we have the 22nd pick in each round.

1st round (22nd overall)

SP Cisco Robles

He was one of the only players I targeted to fall to us,and was the best overall player left.

2nd Round (74th Overall)

LF Keith Sampson

Has a good bat and speed, but his defense is lacking.

3rd Round (104th Overall)

LF Gustavo Juárez

He has a good bat and defense.

4th Round (134th Overall Pick)

RF Rubén Ramírez

He has a below average bat but good defense.

5th Round (164th Overall Pick)

CF Brad Graham

He can't hit for power,at all,nor can he field, but he has a hard time striking out.

Draft Summery

Overall,I was really disappointed in this draft class,we got a pair of descent prospects in Robles and Sampson, but no legendary potential.Same could be said of the class as a whole, there is some good players but that's all.

FL Rookie of the month - Bruce McKnight (.395, 2HR, 13RBI)

WCL Rookie of the month - Shinji Rin (.415, 1HR, 14RBI)

July 1st

Houston 3,Washington 1

W: M.Kerr(6-8) L:G.Wade(5-4) SV: B.Tobias(9)

HR: Sykes (23) Was: A.Allen (20)

Scoring Plays:No one scored intill the 8th,on a Sykes 3 run homer.Washington again ruined the shutout in the 9th with a Allen solo homer. That would not be enough for the comeback,we win!

C William Smith signs a minor league contract.

July 2nd

Washington 8,Houston 4

W: Holbrook(6-6) L:Clark(5-4)

HR: K.An (31) Was: Peña (11) Hurst (13)

Washington starts of in the 1st on a Peña single,He would hit a solo homer in the 4th as well.Morin would add to there lead with a 2RBI double and they would round out the inning on a RBI groundout by Mertens. We would score in our half on a Cooke RBI single, and later on a Ramírez RBI single.Washington would add to there lead again in the 6th,on a Hurst RBI Triple. He would later score on a sac fly.We would bring their lead to 3 on a K.An two run homer.Hurst would hit a homer to increase their lead. That would be the final score

Sykes had to be taken out after fielding a fly ball in the 6th.After further examination, he will be out for two weeks with a torn ligament in his thumb. This triggered two callups from MacBride and Mays.MacBride has been Biden away in the minors,I had intended him to be a 5th outfielder but that was before Sykes.Mays is the 28 year old 3B that was apart of the huge trade from earlier this year.We send down Stanley,he will stay there intill I figure out what to do with him.

July 3rd

By the way,I've been playing these games across multiple days and states.I want to test a theory that if I go back to my home state(Texas) we will win. This seemed to prove true in Madden Mobile. Unfortunately,I can't go to Houston but I will be at Arlington today for the final game of the season.
But for now,I'm across the red river in Oklahoma,so that is will I will at least play this game.

We would score in the first on a K.An single.Long Beach would answer in the 3rd on a RBI grounder by Neal.No one would score again intill a heartbreaking homer to lose the game.

Long Beach 4, Houston 1

W:Guzmán(8-3) L:Valdes(3-5)

HR: LB M.Lango (5)

*Jenkins pitched 7.1 innings and gave up one run on 4 hits, striking out 4.

*Thompson pitched 8 innings and gave up one run on 9 hits with 0 K's.

CF Ed Marks of New Orleans, went 5-6 in a 11-2 win.

July 4th

Still in Oklahoma

They would score first on a RBI double by Montoya in the first. That was followed up by back to back RBI singles by Bates and Medina. We answer back with a HBP with the bases loaded. We would score again in the 3rd on a K.An RBI groundout.Neals day was over in the 7th after giving up a solo Homer to Ruíz.

Long Beach 4,Houston 2

W:G.Beaulieu(9-2) L:J.Neal(9-2) SV.Jones(24)

HR: - LB Ruíz (15)

*Neal pitched 7 innings and gave up 4 runs on on 11 hits, striking out 7.

*Beaulieu pitched 8 innings and gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, striking out 2.

July 5th

Well let's see how much it helps after a RBI single by Wood puts them ahead in the 2nd.They would add to that with a No RBI groundout double play. They would add to it with a Ruíz RBI single. They would again add in the 5th on a error grounder.Thats all I can bear to write.

Long Beach 13,Houston 0

Aww just awwww we need to pick up as a team, Well I'm off to Arlington.

Recap of game #162 in Arlington.

I was greeted with a smile and a voucher for a free game for 2016, which was all apart of fan appreciation day. I went to my seat and with my luck a lady with the loudest scream in the world, was sitting right in front of me.It didn't prevent me from seeing my boy, Albert "The Machine" Pujols drive a two run homer into the seats in left center.I was glad to see him hitting 40 HR at the young age of 35.The entire game,I was torn between the two teams. Not as much as the 2011 World Series, but hey.Of course Rangers fans had not forgot about what Freese did in that series and they booed him every time he hit.Going into the game,I hoped for both Angle and Diamondback wins. That way the Rangers would win the division and the Angles would have one more shot to get in.By the 7th inning stretch, the Diamondbacks were withholding there end but the Angles still trailed 3-2.Of course,by the 7th,I had a headache from the woman and the 90+ decree heat,or was it from the 6 runs.I still had hopes for the Angles. Afterall, this is baseball, anything can happen Right? Right?Hold up I just saw that Albert foul ball, wow!!That was crushed.Anyway yes and no,yes they could come back, but no they didn't.I guess they used all there comeback energy yesterday.Final 9-2 Rangers!! Hamels W (13-8) 9IP, 2R, 3H, 8K, 2BB, 1HR Richards L (15-12) 6IP, 3R, 6H, 6K, 2BB, 1HR
Beltre 2-4, 1HR, 3RBI Pujols 1-4, 1HR, 2RBI
Woo lets goooo!

I enjoyed the game very much,I got to see potential future all-star Joey Gallo pitch hit,and see two of my childhood stars hit balls into the seats.I will have to wait in till next year to see Pujols plate his 1700th RBI.Intill next time.

June 10th - 12:00 AM

I couldn't sleep at all tonight thinking about a possible 10 game losing streak. It didn't help that we were going to face the 55-35 Queen Snappers. We are without our ace, our star rookie, and both our power hitters are in a sim slump. So, I keep thinking of ways to raise team morale.

June 10th - 2:00AM

After hours of contemplating what to do, a janitor on his night shift came into the room.He was a stout middle- aged man, with a rough white haired beard. He just sat down and told me a very interesting story.Apparently, he had played for 6 years in the MLB before it was shut down due to a huge lawsuit by the player union over loyalty rights. He then proceeded to jump around the spread out sim-pro leagues, which now form the USBA.He told me that every team he played for always focused on team building, and he felt like a part of the team. With that he walked out, and I didn't even get his name.

June 10th - 3:15 AM

I was thinking about what he said, about being a team.So I called for a mandatory team meeting at 6 o'clock sharp.

June 10th - 6:01 AM

The team sat around the janitor as he shared the same story he had to me.Though they showed no expression, I hoped some of the story was helpful. As he finished I finally got a name, Joey Cahill.I returned to my office about a hour later to find a list.Apparently, they had come up with a full array of nicknames.

Here are some of my favorites.

Mike "Bigmac" MacBride

William "Wally West" Weston

Bob "Scab" Tobías Note- that's the only game given nickname

Editors Notes: Fill free to come up with some
