I wonder how many people still play this game. TBCB 2.5, I mean--I gave up on the 2013 version shortly after installing it. When I bought a new computer I did not even bother to try to switch over my license.

I still run my universe almost every day. I use 2013. I dont seem to have the issues with it most people on here do. Maybe it's because I run single fights and not full fight cards? I have given up hope that a new version or even an update to 2013 will ever happen. For the past 10 years all we've heard is OOTP takes all of Pauls time so why would anything change now?

I dunno. Some mornings I have so many aches and pains when I wake up...
A few mornings ago at the grocery store my wife asked "Why are there so many old people here today?" I told her "They are looking at us asking the same question..."

I can't get this to work on my Macbook Air anymore.
I have an old Windows Laptop and I may try to reinstall there. This game works great if you're willing to do one single fight at a time manually control the universe using paper/pen or Google Sheets. I need to start up a new one with one weight division, a handful of former greats and some AI generated rando's. Then as these guys age out, or lose themselves to retirement, I'll add other former greats. |

I notice this too and I can't help but think one of the reasons is that nothing has really changed since 2000. I love a variety of music. My fav genre is probably 70's and 80's rock (born in 74). I love me some Van Halen, Skynyrd, Led Zepplen, Motley Crue, etc. But I also love Prince, MJ, Beastie Boys, Snoop, Tupac, Nirvana, Marvin Gaye.... That's something today's kids really haven't had the pleasure of experiencing. From 1980-2000 there was a tonne of new sounds out of nowhere. In the 90's you could hear Skid Row, Madonna, Nirvana and Dr Dre. What an amazing variety of music. The other day I heard an 'old school' Rhianna song followed by SexyBack. If both of those songs were released today, more than 20 years after their release, you'd think it was a current song. Play Kickstart My Heart and people would instantly know that was from a while back. Same with technology. What has really changed in 24 years? Basically the size and processing power of our devices. The phones got smaller, then bigger, now smaller again. Laptops are lighter. But overall, it's basically the same stuff. Again, think back to the 80s till now. In my lifetime we went from a rotary phone to cellphones. Computers didn't really exist. The internet? Mind blowing. I consider myself lucky to have lived thru all these amazing technological advances. My kids don't even know what a payphone is, lol As a kid I played baseball. If a game or practice was rescheduled or cancelled, the coach had to make 12 phone calls. The schedule was printed on a piece of paper that hung on our fridge. Now everything is online and with apps, you press a button and everyone on the roster knows the game has been changed. I'm turning 50 this year and I feel blessed for the things I've experienced in my lifetime. And I can't help but feel a bit bad for the younger generations who won't see the kinds of advancements and changes throughout their lives. And don't get me started on movies. From The Terminator to Back to the Future, Karate Kid, Aliens, Star Wars, Se7en, Pulp Fiction, A Few Good Men, Rocky, The Usual Suspects,.... There were so many great genre defining films. Now? Take your pick between Superhero movies and remakes. Last edited by Hank1974; 04-11-2024 at 11:53 AM. |

I dunno. The Autoscheduler still works for me. I usually use it to sim a bunch of fights with the pork 'n bean brigade of my AU. I run the others one by one, but then I only use the heavyweights. It would be too much work for me to control even eight weight classes. Some guys manage to do it though.
