Best sports movie ever........
I cant agree to that. Top 5 maybe Top 3.

Mine is "The Natural", "Hoosiers" is a close second.

Those would be my top 3 as well. Not to get into a debate, but I will never understand how a lot of people think Field of Dreams is the best baseball movie. The Natural by a mile. "Suit Up"

I could be wrong, but whatever. You can't argue for or against intent with someone you don't know.

Regardless, to go on a tangent, EHM's player regeneration had many issues, so to say there "weren't many" was still egregious. Player regen and an incredibly flawed AI with bad gameplay ruined EHM. Had it continued development, it may have one day been a good/great game.
  • Way to easy to find "regens," especially for foreign players.
  • Some regens made completely unrealistic/screwed up... Lidstrom was regened with a 1 positioning once.
  • Randomly generated players outside of traditional countries, even if excellent, would always retire. Once you're 10+ years in and watch the development of every incoming player in the game (which is what I did) you will find Israeli, South African, and even Korean players with a PA of 170+, and they never wind up on a team and retire by the time they're 16.
  • Due to cloudy and downright bad formulas and algorithms, player attributes weren't at all indicative of how skilled a player was. You could easily have a star-power player with all 17s in offensive categories and have him fail to perform despite good scouting reports and mental attributes. A save game glance reveals his CA to be like 115. That is downright deceptive and a huge detriment to the entire game.
  • Wonky gameplay made it so that heavier players were substantially better, regardless of their attributes. 170 pounds and 16 strength was a significantly weaker player than 250 pounds and 10 strength.
  • You could draft decent regenned players and as long as you only drafted guys near or over 210 pounds, you were sure to dominate.
Not using EHM as some sort of superior comparison but as the only game of its type at the time. Yes it was flawed and there were many issues with the 2007 version that at times made it unplayable. However, you could trade players, trade offers were of a realisticish value, you could resign FA's and sign FA's all of which are fundamentals of a GM type hockey game without game crashing errors. I'm not precious about EHM but I did enjoy playing it. I agree with most of your sentiments about EHM but find the tone of your replies to my posts most disagreeable.

I understand things pop up and delays happen, but how hard is it to stop by and just let us know quickly. I want to give the developers the benefit of the doubt but this release is off to a pretty rocky start.

That's fine. I find the fact that you called the developers' behavior deplorable, and accused them of having some kind of agenda most disagreeable.

.
You want an option in the game that signs every free agent that has ever played for a team to be signed for said team? And an option that moves every player drafted by a team to said team?

I guess that feature could be somewhat fun or atleast something closely resembling what some people, somewhere in a remote location, might call interesting, but i don't think it's something anyone is seriously (or otherwise) considering at the moment. Like you said, it's just the first version, might not include 'features' such as these.

Didnt call the developers diplorable just the fact that they have charged a lot of people money and it appears they ignored a lot of bug reports i find that unacceptable if you are going to use terms like open beta testing. They must have an agenda, everyone does. They appear to have overstretched themselves to appease the forum community members demands instead of just creating a Hockey Management game that was playable and adding other features later.
