Some late inning heroics in the form of a pair of two-run blasts by Leury Garcia and Ryan Goins bailed out Josh Johnson and gave Toronto the 6-5 win over Chicago.

WP - Carter Capps (1-0)
Save - Rex Brothers (9)
LP - Matt Thornton (0-1)

Record - 16-18

Brett Lawrie came into the game leading all three triple crown categories. During the game, both the HR and RBI numbers were tied... by Jose Bautista! Lawrie picked up an RBI to take the lead back, but the race is on!

Franklin Guttierez had a great game, going 2 for 3 with a homer, double and a walk.

Toronto beat Chicago 8-2.

WP - Colby Lewis (5-1)
LP - Gavin Floyd (3-4)

Record - 17-18

As Toronto plays some very important games against Boston, they seemed to be on a roll. That roll stopped with Jon Lester shutting them down as the Red Sox won 3-1.

Also, just as Bruce Rondon seemed to be getting on track after his disastrous first major league outing, he had to be removed from the game with an undisclosed injury.

WP - Jon Lester (5-2)
Save - Andrew Bailey (6)
LP - Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-3)

Record - 18-19

Another missed opportunity for Toronto as they pushed the Red Sox to the 12th inning until Michael Cuddyer hit a solo blast off Rex Brothers to give Boston the 7-6 win.

Franklin Guttierez went 4 for 5 including two homers. Brett Lawrie got his league leading 13th home run.

WP - Matt Harrison (2-0)
LP - Rex Brothers (0-1)

Record - 18-20

Bruce Rondon was placed on the 15-day DL with a strained oblique. Tanner Scheppers was called back up.

Michael Young was sent to Buffalo. Moises Sierra was called up.

To get back on the winning side against the Red Sox, Toronto called on Josh Johnson... and he delivered. Johnson pitched into the 8th and left with no runs and two runners on. They both ended up scoring, but he still picked up the 5-2 victory.

WP - Josh Johnson (1-1)
Save - Rex Brothers (10)
LP - Rubby de la Rosa (3-2)

From one important divisional rival series to another one. Colby Lewis was too much for the Tampa Bay Rays as he kept them in check as the Jays romped off to a 7-2 win. Jose Reyes and Lou Marson both went deep for the Jays.

WP - Colby Lewis (6-1)
LP - Edinson Volquez (3-3)

Josh Johnson is showing why the Jays wanted him, as he held the White Sox to 2 hits over 7.1 innings on route to a 4-1 Blue Jay win.

It looked like a repeat of yesterday as the Jays went into the ninth down 2-1. That was where the similarities stop, however, as a three-run blast by Franklin Gutierrez and a two-run shot by Jose Reyes turned the game around and gave Toronto the 6-2 win over Chicago.

Jesus Montero was ejected in the 8th after getting into an altercation with the home plate umpire. We will see if there are any repercussions.

WP - Steve Delabar (1-0)
LP - Addison Reed (1-2)

Record - 23-22

With that they passed Boston for 2nd in the AL East, 4.5 games behind Baltimore.

Ivan Nova bounced back from his rocky last start to completely control...most of the Twins. The three hits by Joe Mauer were bad because they caused him to pass Brett Lawrie in the batting average portion of the triple crown race, but overall they will all (including Brett) be happy with the 3-1 win.

Franklin Guttierez and Jose Reyes both got their 6th homers of the year.

WP - Ivan Nova (4-4)
Save - Rex Brothers (13)
LP - Kevin Corriea (5-5)

Record - 24-23
