So far, it looks good. I tracked 10 season of 70+ rated pitchers, and saw enough move into the bullpen to make me happy. Draft pools averaged 3 premium relief pitchers, which also made me happy. This one is going to take a lot more time to evaluate though.

I've simmed hundreds of seasons now and I'm still very impressed with these changes. Bullpens have some real flavor to them now. You can pick any team, at any time during a sim, and see diversity:
3+ pitch guys, who just aren't good enough to start 2.5 pitch guys (my term for guys with 2 strong pitchers and a very weak third) 2 pitch sp's, who never developed a third pitch 2 pitch drafted relievers A few small things that I'd love to see: FIP on the main player profile. The position they were drafted at (SP, MR, CL) in the player history. The development of additional pitches in the history. |

100% agree. In fact, I'd love for the position any player was drafted at to be in the history, as well as new positions learned.

Maybe this is a really stupid question, but it's that I've never imported a long played league before.
Basically, if I import my '12 league, will it benefit from the new pitcher creation model? I mean, new players created after the import will play like it was a '13 league from the begining? |

I hate to say this, but after playing for week, it's still far too easy to draft a dominant bullpen. There's fewer RP's generated, but the AI still undervalues them.
With no scouting and an 80 point scale, there's 75+ rated RP's on the board when the position players are down to 25. It's easy to draft position players and SP's for the first 3 rounds, then stack up on top-notch RP's for the next 4 rounds. On the positive side, the AI doesn't value them as high in trades as they used to. I'm debating between a house rule and simply deleting all RP's from the draft pool. I'm leaning towards the later. |
