The over/under should be 5/11/11.

Previous versions have more often come out in June than April
This is helpful, Gambo.

IIRC, the earlier release of OOTP11 was due in part to the fact that a boxed version was being published. The publisher wanted to release it near OD. It looks, then, as if June is the standard release date for OOTP. Version 9 was released in June. Version 10 was released in June. Version 12, if it is delayed a bit further, will be released in June. The earlier release of OOTP11 was the exception, not the rule.

I don't understand... How can I simulate the season a million times in March and bet my house on the... <insert loser team here> ... if the standard release is in May/June?

... and end sarcasm. =D

No doubt... They care more about the app then they do the real game... Its always about the money.

No doubt your ignoring previous history and release dates and making a statement that has no historical or factual foundation.

I didnt really pay much attention when iOOTP was announced, not something that I am interested in.

I was really disappointed to learn that OOTP12 took a backseat to iOOTP. Going by what I remember Markus posting, he put about 3 weeks into iOOTP. So, when OOTP12 comes out, I know that the thought will be running through my head that it could have been out 3 weeks earlier if it wasn't for iOOTP.

It doesn't, however, explain you're willingness to be involved in a thread about the game you don't plan on buying.........other than to point out you're not buying it.

I'm not trying to be smart. Genuinely wondering.

Ever thought that maybe the app is what is going to keep OOTP coming back for a 13th version and beyond? There is a spot on the curve where customers are happy with their version and decide to not buy the next version. A game can only get SO good. Then the money dwindles.
For someone who had been around here as long as yourself, i would think you would care more about the big picture, then about the immediate OOTP fix.

It's kind of par for the course as far as the OOTP forums go.

To be honest, this is where I am. I am perfectly happy with my OOTP 11 league and felt like v12 does not have enough improvements for me to warrant buying the game. With that said, I am very excited about iootp and will buy it first thing in the morning. Given what I expect a fair amount of enjoyment from the game, it is very possible that I will (at some point) buy v12 because of iootp sparking my excitement in the "latest" release.

Most have not given this as much strength as it actually deserves.

Back when iOOTP was first being discussed, we were told in no uncertain terms that the development of OOTP 12 would not be affected at all, obviously this was not the case considering the fact that it's now May and beta has yet to begin. That said, how could you begrudge a company an opportunity that they feel is a worthy endeavor? I just hope that it doesn't blow up in their face, because in that scenario we all lose.

Of course it's about money. The man is running a business after all. Tell me honestly, would you give Markus $40 if he asked you to allow him to skip a year and work exclusively on the game? Even if you would, how many others would? Nobody I know, here or elsewhere, works for free.

Markus made a tough call, fully aware that people would be disappointed, in order to open up a huge potential market for his product. It's absolutely about the money and that is as it should be.

I just don't get the attitude that OOTPD is some sort of benevolent society or charity that owes us anything but a good product for a good price.

Just pointing out another reason one may not have his panties in a wad about the arrival of the new version.

Besides, I figure we have the right to post in any thread we want, or is their a rule I missed somewhere? After all, people who don't vote still will put their 2 cents in about an elected official any time they want.

Except you clearly DO have your panties in a wad based on your response.

He didn't say you broke any rules, he asked you honestly why you constantly get involved in threads just to say you're not buying it.

This is true in my case as well. The few new things I have seen aren't worth the money to me. I will wait about 3 more versions when I reckon there will be enough new things that I care about, hopefully.

Doesn't mean I have lost interst in OOTP or that I can't go into forums about the newer versions. I figure that even though I'm waiting for a few versions before buying I still would like to keep up with the new things in the versions leading up to that point since the new things in version 12 or 13 won't be new in version 14 and won't be getting discussed in the lead up to that release. So, rather than learning about all the updates from 3 separate versions at once I'll just keep up with them as things go along.

For the same reason people read what I write. If what I write bothers just don't read my stuff, just block me. Simple, isn't it?

By the way, you say I constantly do it. I may be getting senile but I don't recall saying it before. Could you steer me to the posts where I said it in the past?

Nothing you say bothers me. If people saying they didn't want to buy a new version every year bothered me and I blocked them, I'd miss some very good members.

My point was that is that he was asking an honest question and you got butthurt asking about rules and such.
