As I remember it, Shaun took quite a bit of time off on Puresim at one point. I'm also willing to bet a fake lunch that he runs in cycles as far as how much time he spends on the boards as a general rule.

Markus is one guy, he can be given a bit of time to recharge, I think.
Ah, if only I could take a couple months to recharge.

It's also faulty logic to say that because a game is better than it's only other competitor (which is only the opinion if the game player, not necessarily fact) that it makes it the best game in the history of games, or for that matter a good game at all.

One trash heap may smell better than the other but they are both still trash heaps.

Isnt Markus allowed a break? I would think that would be a huge advantage of being self employed.

Its not as if he just ignores tech issues.

He doesnt have time to respond to every single issue that pops up that is why he has a few helpers on this forum. Ive seen him purposely post questions that he wants responses to and he will generally respond in that thread.

In all honesty I would be pulling my hair out if I were him. It is impossible to please everyone. He would need to hire a lot more people and still people wouldnt be happy. Everyone wants the best game possible but I think we are asking a bit much to ask a limited crew of people to provide that.
As I hear often whenever someone has a problem with their job.....it's the line of work we chose. If we can't handle it, find something else to do.

That goes for anyone, including game designers.

Geez man, your responses are a bit over the top, don't ya think? You know, if you don't like the way Marcus runs his business you could simply shop elsewhere.

What makes you think I don't?

So what exactly did I say that is over the top and why? Don't just throw a comment at me without defining exactly what you find wrong. If I thought it was over the top I wouldn't have said it, or maybe I would have. Who knows.

That's true.

I don't think I eluded to the relative quality of either game in my comment though.

So I'll just say: That's true. "Better" is a comparative. I think herpes simplex is better than syphilis. But that doesn't mean I consider either good. I think that Gandhi is better than James Monroe. But that doesn't mean I consider either bad.

Actually that wasn't directed straight at you but I was just responding to what you said because it seemed kinda stupid to start a new thread just to say what I did.

But there are those here that keep talking about how OOTP is the greatest thing out there and that's who I was directing my comment at.

I have no issues with someone using logic correctly.

I have neither syphilis nor herpes simplex, by the way.

Oh good. I was wondering how those made it into the conversation and was thinking you were keeping a big secret from everyone.

It's great. You sleep as late as you want, eat and drink all you want, and hunt and fish and party and game whenever you want. Some days I have a ton of burritos and chili and beer for lunch and then just crash and sleep like a big dog all afternoon.

Of course, like most people who weren't born rich, I had to work all my life and had to wait until I retired before I could "recharge."

Lucky Markus.

I'm assuming you issue gas masks to those with whom you co-habitate? I imagine you are pretty toxic on afternoons such as those?

My wife's at work in the afternoons and my dogs don't mind a bit. In fact the Dalmatian farts a lot worse than I do.

Yeah, retirement really sucks. Not.
