The fish travel to LA and bring the whuppin’ sticks with them beating the Dodgers 13-10 in the series opener. Many hitting stars in this one starting with 3B Scott Cooper who had 4 doubles and drove in 4 runs, becoming the first player since Kirby Puckett in 1989 to hit 4 doubles in a game. Hammonds also had 4 hits and Gonzo has 3 as the Marlins had 22 hits in the game. Incredibly no home runs but 8 doubles and a triple. George Brett had two pinch hit doubles in the 7-run 8th inning.

The offense shows up strong again beating the Braves 12-3 with 21 hits. Cooper gets 4 hits again, including 2 more doubles. Eric Young also had 4 hits, Girardi drove in 4 and Joe Carter hit #14. Joe Magrane gets his first Marlins win going 8 allowing 3 runs and 5 hits, striking out 8.

Hammonds hits his 15th and drives in 3 in a 4-2 win over Atlanta. Albie Lopez gives up 1 run in 7 1/3 striking out 8.

A couple of 2 out singles in the 9th by Carter and Gilkey get the Marlins their 3rd straight win over the Braves 6-5. Hammonds injured his elbow on a diving catch and is listed as day to day.

Monday is an off day and then travel to St. Louis and Chicago. With the trade deadline approaching, the Marlins signed free agent SP Sean Bergman and assigned him to AAA Kentland. Bergmann had made 16 starts for Cleveland’s AAA squad going 4-3 and a 2.86 ERA.

What's Interesting is that you dug deep enough to read a Dynasty thread that hasn't had a post in it for over 6 years!
