The Brewers have to bring up a 29 yr old scrub who has flopped three times in the majors.

The scrub wins, and wins, and wins. In 12 starts, he's 9-0, with an ERA of 1.98 and a K/9 ratio of 11.0.

Right now, the AI pays no attention to stats. It's always about the ratings.

But, why would ANY GM send to AAA a guy who is flat out dominating hitters like Joe Scrub? The adjustable stat % of AI evaluation allows you to weigh the actual performance of the players vs the just the ratings. Joe Scrub may be trash, but if you have stat % turned way up, the AI is going to try to ride Joe Scrub all the way to the World Series, and hope that he gets a ring before he turns into a pumpkin.

It's a more precise version of the depth chart, essentially. Instead of simply saying "start my backup LFer every third game" you get to specify exactly which games he should start in, allowing you to optimize your matchups to a greater degree.

Exactly. And when you do rest your cleanup hitter, it doesn't mean that your scrub has to bat cleanup.

Maybe he's adding in a space victory, like in Civ.

No, not really. I would put it down the priority list. Quite far down the list actually.

Thanks for the update. I don't think it's small considering there's a feature that will BLAST. I guess it's something about... well, I'll just keep it to myself.

Now that would be a BLAST of a feature.

But like I said before, an international baseball feature will only work if the players behave as they do in real life (MLB players tend to be more MLB career oriented). It would take a lot out of it if every player invited to the national squad accepted as happens in International Football.

Well - I have to play devil's advocate here... I started playing OOTP back in v4. I love OOTP and never hesitated to purchase the next new release until now. I bought v2006 a few days after it came out. I put in several hours trying to understand the new game and I have to say that I hate v2006 and have not touched it for the past several months. It was a big waste of money for me. I continue to play a ton of online 6.5 leagues though.
<O</O

Is v2007 going to be as complicated to run as v2006? I can’t imagine trying to play in multiple online leagues with v2006. I’m not trying to blast v2006 but there were a lot of people turned off by it and a lot of leagues very hesitant to move to the new version because the game was so difficult to learn and navigate. So, I’ll ask this – will there be a demo of v2007 so that we can give it a quick try instead of just forking over $30-$40 dollars? Will v2007 be a little easier/quicker to maneuver around in? <O</O

Long as we're making feature requests in this thread, I have a big one. For international leagues to be workable, we must have the ability to make divisions by country. ie, a far east league with 4 8 team divisions that import players from each division, div 1, japan, div 2 china, div 3 korea, div 4 taiwan and have the players generated from proper national databases.

Wouldn't having the option of having a WBC be better than not having the option at all(even if it means that all the best players will actually play and not reject the invitation, perhaps we should add a "patriotism" ranking to the players to make this work ). A year ago I liked the idea of ootp having all this international competition features, but now I think that they should probably concentrate in making the mlb set up work properly.

That being said, I hope that in the future we have fully functional reallistic winter leagues(in fact Markus promised this was going to be a new feature in ootp 2007, but I doubt that will be the case now).

"will only work"....no.

In a fictional universe that, by no means, have to take place.

I think I'd actually prefer it NOT to work that way.
