Getting same message as mkj and tycobber
Maybe you can explain how you got yours to work for me mkj. everything seemed to be set okay, but I'm getting the same error message as you had. I'm borderline brain dead on how some of this stuff works, so the more basic the explanation you could offer, the better off I'll be.
Thanks! |

OK BCooper,
1. Unzip all of the picture files as instructed in the program. 2. I went and downloaded a free program called 2-4a Rename. Google should find this. It's freeware, well actually email ware, whatever that is. Download and install this program. 3. Starts this program and convert all the pictures in the c:\AU2006\RANDOM directory by adding 'Player_' before their file name. This creates the file name that OOTP2k6 uses. Note that this will only work if you want random pictures for your players! 4. I then copied all the converted files to the directory as defined in the customization guide. This will be different for you depending on how your directories are named, and what the name of your league is. Pictures are league specific. Anyway on my computer they went into: c:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\data\saved_games\Fictional League.lg\news\html\images Note that both the conversion and the transfer can take quite long depending on your computer specs! 5. Open OOTP2006 and enjoy seeing the folks you spend so much time managing! Hope this helps. Mike Last edited by mkjhartmann; 07-20-2006 at 02:10 AM. |

Irfanview works well too. I did a Batch conversion/Rename to get all the Random players to work.
Hint: If you want e.g. 3 digits in the new rename name, you must also write 3x "#" in the pattern! Example: Pattern Player_### with start index 1 will produce file names " Player_001", "Player_002", etc. In other words single digit player files should read Player_# , Double digit player files Player_## and so on. I gotta tell you 24K plus photos are going to take a bit of time but well worth it. |

![]() This is really great, thanks for your help Mike. Am I correct in assuming then that if I were running a historical league that I wouldn't need to run the batch conversion because most of the player names would match up with league player names? It doesn't matter at this point, because I can convert these, but I'm just curious. |

Once again, does this work with OOTP 6/6.5?

You can use the pictures, but you need to convert them to .bmp files instead of jpg.

Now what am I doing?
Mike, I converted the files, and copied them into my images subfolder from my league, but they're in another subfolder that somehow it just created called "random". So my pics were transfered from "Random" in AU2006 to "Random" in the images folder for fictional league I'm running. I can see the pictures, so I know they are there, but they aren't assigning them to the players in the league.

Just put them in the images folder, not inside a random folder.

They need to go in the image folder as described in my example, not the random one. Do not copy the folder, but rather individual pictures in a batch process.

Comedian,
despite the fact that I had to come up with a workaround on a big I wanted to really thank you for this mod. The picture collection is fantastic. It increased my enjoyment of the game a ton! Thanks. Mike |

Random/Image folders
I thought that I had made the mistake of copying the folder instead of the individual files, but it happened twice. Third time was the charm though, and things look great. Mike, Larry thanks for your patience and your help. Larry thanks for putting this together, and for adding this option to an already great game.

The photos for a modern fictional league look great. If I want to start an historical fictional will it still use the modern photos or does the program have random historical images?

Does this work yet with the newest beta patch, V 1.0.2.12260? When I run the utility and select load league I get the following error (I have no idea what that path is since that is not where my league files are. They are in c:\program files\sports interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\data\saved_games):
