Oh, and what a crazy one-fingered changeup (don't want this going to OT)

That was a crazy pitch. Pods thrown out was a prime time to mention the Molina family!

Whew. That looked like a home run when it left the bat.

Before that groin injury. Those things linger. And hurt. And make it hard to run. But God bless him for trying.

A little research turns up that he has a robust 37% success rate over his last 27 attempts. That's really, really awful. At some point, shouldn't you just stop trying to steal until you get back to the point where you're not hurting your team any more?

It's all part of the smallball strategy. Get thrown out trying to steal, which lulls the pitcher into a false sense of security, hit a home run. It's simple strategy.

"No one plays with more of a football mentality more than Darin Erstad"

He was a punter! Punters aren't football players! And what about someone like Brian Jordan?

Yeah, Erstad's "football mentality" always makes me roffle.

He threw 20 pitches yesterday, which isn't terrible. I think you have to pitch him. Gotta play for the win when you're leading, and he's the closer, so you bring your best.

Ty Wigginton has a "football mentality" too. Lots of good it's done him.
