When starting a new game what is the difference between "Opening day 2015" and "Current 2015" data bases?

Current includes post-opening day roster moves. It's not much different from the opening day start right now, since there wasn't a full data update in this update.

When player gets injured and the head coach is responisble for training and line-up why is then always a notice your lines aren't complete or something like that when I put injured player on injury reserve, shouldn't the coach change and complete line-up himself?

Also start Date has not changed to like November in Current Rosters. In Historical Mode Arena moves might happen. In 2016 just Edit Islanders to Brooklyn.

I know I got somewhat of an answer before that you guys working with updating european leauges. Do you know when we can expect to see this? I´m thinking of stuff like suspensions, offer out player on loans, more contract clausuls, rules special for the leauges (foreigner limits, overtime rules etc) and offcourse some database updates on player skills and contracts.

Is there any way to set how many games your starting Goalie plays?

I'm in a online league we've played 9 games so far I have the Rangers Lundqvist has started only 5 he should not be tried after one game. I understand if it was back to back but I've only have had two

Starting my 4th season. Having fun. Just had the draft. Can't advance
the day, keep getting told to finish the draft. Draft is done. 30 teams, 210 picks. nothing to click on under action button. Help? Any solutions.

The injury notice will come up if you don't have the assistant handling roster moves as well, since moving a player to IR is considered a roster move.

The start date will not be changing, nor will the Islanders' name; they've said they'll be keeping the New York Islanders name.

Not yet, it's up to the AI at the moment, but I have some plans for that which should give human owners more control over which goalie is used.

Not sure what could be going wrong there, but setting all your manager option settings to assistant and then advancing a single day may get past it if it's expecting some kind of input from you. If not, we may need to have a look at the file to see what exactly the problem is.

Is there a way to a current NHL season as a draft. Where every team has to pick players to make up their rosters. So all players are free agents and each team takes a turn picking a player. I thought i saw this option in this game before but i'm not seeing it now. Maybe i'm just confused haha.

I need a lot of help understanding the scouting assignment box. If somebody could help clear up the following questions, it would be appreciated.

* What box do I check if I specifically want to scout only impending free agents in a specific league (i.e., the AHL or NHL)? Is that the "Free Agent" box?

* I'm assuming that the "Rights Available" box is predominantly used if I want to scout, for example, Nordic leagues or the KHL for non-draft eligible players I'd be able to sign from there (example: how the Pens signed Plotnikov this past year)? What other uses does it have?

* Does the "Do not include foreign players" option mean that it's not including players playing in foreign leagues? Or foreign-born players completely? In what scenarios would I want to choose this box?

There are so many options in general for this game, and it would really help if the manual actually broke them down in detail.

Foreign-born players. Useful in (European) leagues with limit on import players, to scout only domestic players. Eg. In the KHL I have a 5-man import limit, I use it to scout Russian players playing in America

Thanks, Alessandro! So I guess "foreign" is in relation to the league that is doing the scouting and not the league that is being scouted? if I were running an NHL team, decided to scout the KHL, and chose "Do not include foreign players," then that would only give me North American-born players playing in the KHL? And not only give me Russian players, like I assumed?

Searched the forums for this one but couldn't find it. How many assistant coaches and scouts is a team allowed to have, and how does this impact training? It seems to, since after hiring a 2nd assistant coach and two more scouts, two training attributes went from 3 stars to 4. Does this allow me to spend more training points on players, or just improve the quality of the training?

Not right now, no. We tried adding a custom start with real NHL players and teams where you could do that, but there were a few too many problems with it so we had to pull it out of the last update; hopefully it can go in the next one.

Right, it'll consider players from outside the NHL's region (North America) as foreign, so not including them will only find Americans and Canadians.

Both - it'll increase the amount of points that get distributed amongst the players you select, which will improve the quality of the training. I can't remember offhand the limit for assistants and scouts, but it's fairly high - basically limited only by your budget. The game will only consider the top-rated assistants when calculating the coaching value for a specific training topic, though, so adding a lot of weaker coaches won't help.
