I'm not sure what I'm more shocked by, that we actually won the match or that Sergei Artemiev managed to go 2-0 on the day. It'd be nice if he can turn things around and let me focus on improving other areas of the team. It's nice to win one again and pay your boys back Dave for that beating they handed us back in week 1.

I don't think you broke any Bink records, Shane. At least you can be thankful for that! We are one of the cellar dwellers of the cellar dwellers. The mystery of the disappearance of the Binks will be revealed tomorrow, if our printers aren't on strike, otherwise on Thursday. And, if we travel over to battle you in your home turf some day, I'll be looking forward to some fine beers, like Castlemane (spelling?)!

SAL: Battling Battalino has got a Stockholm flag in the rankings page though he is not on my roster. Then again, you might know something that I don't, you being the comissioner and all =)
Edit: May I just say that the game handles the rankings quite strange sometimes. Wayne McCullough is ranked at #10 with a record of 5-10-1 and would be in the EOY tourney if it was held right now while a fighter like Billy Whistler 10-6 wouldn't. Bink Gazette
BINK GAZETTE July 14, 2008
In the prior Gazette, I had reported that the doors to the Bink training facility were chained and padlocked, leading to conjecture as to where the team was and whether the Binks had folded. I am happy to report that the Binks are alive and well, and still active ! Sal, the Commish, was also happy, as now he didn’t have to figure out how to assign forfeit points! As to the mystery of the padlocked entrance, there was a rational explanation that I only recently received. After the shellacking given them by the powerhouse Hebron Haymakers, the Binks had a behind-closed-doors meeting. Team captain Hasim Rahman was incensed, and told the owner that he felt he hadn’t earned his paycheck for the week, and was turning it back in! To a man, the rest of the Binks did the same, but Boots Monroe, he of the 2-12 record, did state that he was only returning one paycheck !Mikehoudini and Mack Lewis were touched by this action on the part of their team, and Mike excused himself to make a few phone calls, but only after collecting each check. He returned a few minutes later, a smile on his face, saying that the Binks were going to do something different and shake things up in preparation for the match with St. Looey Sluggers. A few of the Binks gulped, worried that the axe might be falling, but Mack stepped in. “Boys, we’re gonna try thinking outside the box, as we seem rather stale of late.” The Binks nodded, as they had looked inept in their last two matches. “We’re gonna take a road trip and train with the Toronto Tornados at their facility up Toronto way! Mike and the Toronto owner, Greg, have been talking, and some of the Toronto fans have been coming down here to watch us. We think it’ll be good to try this. Is there anyone who can’t make it?” The Binks shook their heads emphatically. Enjoying the sights in another city sounded great, and it would be fun to work out with the Tornados! The next morning, the Bink bus chugged along as it headed north. A few of the more fired-up Binks suggested a detour to Connecticut, where they could surprise and waylay the dastardly Haymakers. Mack asked them if they really thought that was a good idea, considering the hurt the Haymakers had put on them, and cooler heads prevailed! The Mad Bomber, Greg, was thrilled to have this visit, and his team pulled out all the stops. The two squads worked out together, did some spirited sparring, ran together in the clean Canadian air, and sampled the fine cuisine of the area. There even was a parade, with the onlookers cheering, at which Henry Hank whispered “do they know our record?” Apparently, league records aren’t always current north of the border! Revived and raring to go, the Binks chugged back to Baltimore, in a much better state of mind, ready for their trip to St. Louis, after inviting Greg and teh Tornados to visit Baltimore! And that’s when Sal, the Commish, made his frantic trip to B-more, and was relieved to see a Bink, and indeed all of them, readying themselves for the journey to St. Looey! ![]() We also learned that the rejuvenated Binks had another surprise in store, as they were taking two cats on the journey. The dapper mascot with the evil grin and the willing-to-tussle teeth and claws, Jubilee the Devil Boy, was coming, as was a fat long-haired cat named Miss Mooey from St. Looey! Each entered the Bink bus in his or her own cage, hungry and wanting some tasty meat. ![]() Will the road trip pay off? Will the mascot and other cat affect the action? We’ll know in a day or so. I for one will state that I’ve never seen the Binks look so upbeat and ready at the start of a road trip! Bink fever, catch it! You’ll only wish you died!

The shame ...
After being Umked and Binked the last two weeks, the St. Louis Sluggers were sent by management to find the nearest massage parlor to nurse their wounds. It had better work, cuz that ain't cheap for 16 guys ...

The waivers are now closed for the end of week 8.
3rd round transactions: Left Jab Inc. claims Fly (4)Dai Dower 4-10-0 (2) *pre-prime releases....Fly (3)Lyall Appo 2-14-0 (1) *pre-prime ************************************************** On to week 9......next to last week of season one. I think the first stop in week 9 is in the Broughton division, haven't really looked at the schedule yet. Stockholm has a commanding lead in the division of 31 points over the Bald Beavers and looks poised to claim the division crown in week 10. Don't count the Beavers out of the playoff race as they only trail in the wild card race by one point. The other two teams in the Broughton, the Boxing Kangaroos and the Coventry Hitmen will have to accept their roles and play spoilers if they can in the final two weeks of the season. Once again, good luck to all the teams this week hoping to make the playoffs. The commissioners office would like to issue a special thanks to all four teams in the Cribb division for having good sportsmanship and keeping the fighting clean so far this season. All four teams totaled together have committed only one DQ loss on the year, best in the league. It looks like the dirtiest fighter conference will end up being the Silver conference this season thanks to two teams. Brooks Battlers and the Villebillies have almost single handed out-DQ'd all 12 teams in the Gold conference with each team recording 3 DQ losses apiece so far. |

Thanks for catching Tommy and sorry, you don't have a new memeber on your team just in case you were wishing. Actually I think you may know more than the commish as I double and triple checked the rankings before posting and still managed to mess them up.
