Yup, that should definitely be in if it's doable, I've wanted to do that myself a bunch of times when troubleshooting the previews (actually, I thought I already had a feature request in; must've been prior to when we switched to our new tracking system because I can't find it now.)

I am in commissioner mode but didn't take a job cause I wanted to sim until 2015 so I could play from there with the old league structure and fewer teams. Is it because I don't have a team?
There's no longer an option for turning off expansion, historical leagues will always expand as they actually did (not expanding causes too many issues in later seasons at the moment, we need to work out some ways to handle the problems it causes before we can have the option active.) The option in the startup menu only controls whether or not there will be an expansion draft for the new teams.

Hey guys,

Entering my 3rd season with the Minnesota Wild (non-commissioner mode) and I'm noticing that the salary cap doesn't increase from year to year. Is this intentional, or am I missing something that's within my control to allow it to fluctuate?

It's not increasing because nobody can look into the future ;-) You can manually edit it on July 1st (via commissioner mode).

We are playing two managers on one computer, but when one manager plays his game, ootp sims the other managers team in the same day.

What setting can I change that the game is not simmed.

Thanks

It can be edited, as pens66 said, but otherwise it won't change. We tried a changing cap in the previous version, but there was a lot of confusion over appropriate salary levels after several years of cap increases, so it was simpler to just keep it at the same amount. It might return at some point in the future when the financial systems get overhauled, but that's a ways off.

Hey there. I'm doing a fictional historical league, and in order to maintain some realism I edit the rosters every year to make all the players Canadian. However I noticed that when I edit the draft class, that after making the edit, players potentials always drop half a star. Is this something I should post in the bug thread, or is it supposed to happen?

When starting a new game what is the difference between "Opening day 2015" and "Current 2015" data bases? Before the patch i don't remember ever selecting one of those i just went with whatever was there by default. Anyway i went to create a new game and left it on the default "Opening day 2015" data base and the real life logos/jerseys did not generate.

I think I remember reading that players develop differently based on nationality. That may have something to do with it.

With all the organized hockey in Canada, there is a better knowledge of player ability, so probably fewer hidden gems.

When making fictional leagues, is it any way possible to have more leagues than just the one you make in the step by step creator thing?

I want to make a world with multiple that work concurrent from one another. Like a fictional NHL/SHL/KHL etc. But right now I only found that I can make one league with one feeder league, and create one junior league.

Is that all that can be made, or have I overlooked something that allows me to add more than just those three?

I'll have to investigate a little, but my suspicion is that it's a result of scouting accuracy getting better since you're looking at players that are local to your scouts. But it should work in both directions, up and down, so that makes me wonder if something's going wrong there.

I took the NHL and put 10 teams in the AHL and 10 teams in the ECHL (moving 10 players with each team with the player editor).I changed the names of 10 AHL and ECHL teams so they would be the new teams.

Since 20 teams were moved from the NHL it's basically a fictional league along with the other two leagues. I made sure the players that moved were given no trade and no movement clauses so they wouldn't return to another league.

Teams can't change arenas in the game yet. But you can edit it in for the Oilers via the team edit page in commissioner mode (Rogers Place, capacity 18641, quality 5, 81 luxury boxes.)

Right-clicking on their name will give you the option to re-sign them, but only if they're in the last year of their contract.

No, that's the limitation to fictional mode right now. We may look at adding different configurations in the future.

Still no luck. All I get is the ability to release the coach or scout. I also cannot resign my self as the head coach despite being the GM. I'll continue to click buttons until I can figure it out.

eSellerate's Support Page will let you retrieve it - just use the "E-mail order history" button and it'll re-send the original order email.
