I'm thinking an early argie goal, with a passionate comeback by the mexicans marked by many near misses before finally finding the net in the 85th. Then the passion of Mexico carries them to a quick go ahead in the 87th.

From what RMY has just wrote, he might in a betting way.

I don't tbh (Argentina, 3-1) - there, now I've predicted the result. Wait for it to go wrong.

Looking at the replay of the booking at the end - I'm going to disagree with everyone here, and the pundits in the BBC studio: watch the direction and weight of the ball - the touch from the Mexican player sends it towards Ayala, not directly towards goal. That touch meant Ayala would have had a chance to challenge, therefore Heinze wasn't the last man. Heinze was lucky, but lucky that the touch wasn't great, rather than the referee making a bad decision.

No. I think Argentina will probably win (though I think extra time is a strong possibility). Mexico can win, though. Been very impressed with them, having not been in the group stages.

Well you are the man in the know of the laws, so I bow to your knowledge.

I didn't see it as as soon as I heard Hansen moaning about it, I looked away.

Yeah, I think Mexico has a better chance than the betting suggests.

Well now I've said Argentina 3-1 - those two are pretty much screwed.

He wasn't the last man, but it was a blatant foul that prevented a scoring chance. Therefore, a red card.

Your first sentence contradicts itself. If he wasn't the last man, according to the laws, it wasn't a clear goalscoring chance. Had the touch been better, it would have been.
