A lot of Euro teams will clamp down and try to defend a 1-0 lead. A tactic that could bite you in the ass against the quality oppositon in this tournament.

It would have needed to be converted to an all-seater, costing money in upgrades, and also if it rained (and it can in Germany at this time of the year - see the '74 World Cup) it wouldn't be the most appetising place to watch a game with no covering roof.

EDIT - And it may well have fallen into such a state of disrepair (I don't know if this was the case) it wouldn't be worth converting it anyway as it would cost more than building a new stadium.

Plus, if you fell asleep with your TV on, there was a 90% chance you'd wake up at some point after midnight and this would be playing in like a 30 minute loop.
