My take on Sam Jethroe of the Boston Braves and Cleveland Buckeyes...

I used the face on the left (but after I closed his mouth, causing a slight smile effect - but he seemed happy at times...). I did consider some elements of the other posted photo (and many other not posted photos) of him as well that had a longer, face more distinct chin and, again, a smile. Hope it works for you, G.

In the Seventies, The Padres had good outfielders in Gene Richards and Dave Winfield. George Hendrick was the starting center fielder in 1977, and Derrel Thomas took over the role in 1978. Turner played in more than 100 games each year, but he was mainly a pinch-hitter and fourth outfielder. He remained an above-average player and hit .246 in 1977 and .280 in ’78. He managed a career-high 10 home runs in 1977, including a 3-run pinch-homer off Cardinals pitcher John Denny that led to a 4-3 Padres win on June 17, 1977. In 1978, he hit .408 coming off the bench with 5 home runs, one short of a league record.

After beating the Cardinals with a clutch pinch-hit in the 14th inning of a 1978 game, he didn’t celebrate with his teammates or go on a post-game radio show. “I just don’t want to fool myself or anyone else,” he said. Padres manager Roger Craig maintained that Turner was a different hitter than when he started. “When he pinch hits, he’s more aggressive and also more selective. We just all feel he’s more valuable on the bench.”

Yeah, I pulled up the file in the facegen software and it can't correct for the red in the original image. I used a different photo, a restored version of the Padres one here and then hewed closer to the White Sox image adjacent to it.

Hard-throwing Juan Morillo morill002jua needs a facegen.

The Arizona Diamondbacks might have a hidden gem in their bullpen: flamethrowing right-hander Juan Morillo. The 26-year-old rookie found his way into his first career major league contest on Saturday, and shut the door on a D-backs win on Tuesday.

It took a meltdown by relievers Bryce Jarvis and Joe Mantiply, coupled with an injury to A.J. Puk to force Arizona's hand, but Morillo was one of three relievers who got the call on April 19, and he looked ready for the lights in his first taste of MLB.

Morillo's fastball sat in the 98 MPH range, and even reached into triple digits. He relies primarily on that excellent fastball, but also throws a sharply-breaking slider and an occasional changeup. Morillo cited his experience in the winter league as a driving factor to his eventual MLB debut.

"I think I learned [a lot] in winter ball last year. I think it helped me a lot to get in there, to throw the ball over the plate all the time, because that's all we have to do. That's what we practice every day. That's what we do every day. I think now I'm here because I did it. I got a little bit of control on that," Morillo said. But it wasn't just his stuff that put him on Arizona's radar. Morillo said Diamondbacks' backup catcher Jose Herrera was instrumental in getting him in front of the right people. Herrera and Morillo were teammates in the winter league, both playing for Aguilas del Zulia.

"I talk with Jose Herrera a lot, and he talked to me a little bit about the organization, what they're looking for, and that's why I'm here too. ... I was a free agent last year, and then I was talking with my agent, and she told me that the D-backs [had a] number for me, and I took the D-backs," Morillo said. - si.com
