Going forward we will play 6 games per year vs our state rival, the Rocky Top Rockies. The Rockies are usually very good but struggle with pitchers in the thin air. They have a tremendous offense. They are led by 3b Quinn Ransom (IL), 1b Bowman Derry, Rf Tony McNeeley, Lf Andre Bishop & 2b bobby Henson. Their pitching is led by veteran Michael Corbin, Jorge Romero & CL Robert Cooke.


New players:
SP Jorgen Linnerud - an avg #5 but now as a #3.
SP Tony Ibarra - a rookie that came over in the trade for Alonzo Wilkinson, who just won NL POTM.
RP Kanzaburo Engel - a lights out LHP SU
RP Poe - formerly a CL now in a MR/SU role
RP Anwar Wintercorn - Also formerly a CL now a MR/SU giving them 4 great LHP bullpen pitchers.
Rf Tony McNeeley - a great all around Rf replaces the aging Matt Young in Rf.
1b Forat Argote - a solid rookie 1b with good pop.
C Jeff Jameson - a veteran C with a great arm.
3b Ju-il Yu - a rookie 3b filling in til Quinn comes back.
SS Mario Perez - a very good defensive SS that came in the Wilkinson trade.
2b Billy Ivey - a good rookie bench player

SS Roque Delgado - a speedy defensive rookie SS.

The Brave seem to finally have a good team for the 1st time in several seasons. They are led by 3b Greg Ray, C Luis Rivera, Rf Onofredo Chiappo, SP Narihira Inagaki & CL John Norwood. Had they still had Tony Motta they could be better.

Great week despite the 11 game winning streak ending. 16-2 so far in May is great but now thing get complicated.

Walter Johnson will miss his next start, Jose Medina will start in his place. Tigger Johnson has a pending injury. If he goes on the IL Jose Ruiz will be called up.


Overall the rotation was strong last week. Christy got shelled for the 1st time. Club, Toiguchi & Ortiz struggled.

Mighty Joe was named AL POTW. Brett is in a major slump. everyone else did great or better then they have been doing.


Mercedes Benz is on the IL so there has been a shuffling of players at AAA & AA.


The Fire have a few injuries as well.

We are 3-0 vs the Warriors this season.


We will play shorthanded until we find out if Tigger Johnson will miss some time or not. If he goes onto the IL Jose Ruiz will come up. Mighty Joe will play Rf often along with Russell. Joe Cottoneye will play 1b on occasion. More on that later on.


Thus far the Warriors have been great. They have been positioned as the AL Wildcard for awhile now. Historically, we are terrible vs them. So being down a great Rf and a star RP is going to put us at a bigger disadvantage. Thankfully we still have a 7 game lead and we play Atlantis next then Stryper. The Warriors are having great performances from Black, Miller, Frog, Braxton, Self, Orban, Smith & Dostie.
