That wasn't the issue. I am 400K over the salary cap, would that cause the invalid file? I have the correct players on the roster and dressed, if I had extra hair, I would be pulling it out right now. Thanks for any advice.

In my online expansion league, in which I am a GM, I seem to be unable to hire scouts (my team only has five by default). When I click on personnel then the free agents tab, I can see scouts waiting to be hired, but I can't perform any actions on them. I seem to have a lot of money remaining. What might I be missing?

The amount displayed for the team cap will rise during the season as you accumulated unused cap space; that's how teams can add salaries at the trading deadline that they wouldn't have been able to fit under the cap at the start of the season.

The cap also gets an additional 10% "cushion" during the offseason.

Why I can't send a player who I drafted and signed in 2016 (from Sweden) down to AHL?
And the second issue: I'm in my second season, after the first I expanded by 2 teams and scheduling is funny because I end regular season 10 days earlier then others.

Is there any way to just view just rookie scoring in the player stats page? I'm assuming not. If not i think it needs to be added. I know you can filter by age but that's not really going to help you since not all rookies are 18 and 19.

I don´t seem to find a way to offer out players on loan? If there is, how do I do this?
This is a really big thing in SHL to keep prospects developing.

Also I´m finnishing my first season now and when i´m starting offering contracts there isn´t many clausuls? For exampel I can´t find any options to sign players 1+1 years (team/player extension option)

Last, a big real life thing about beeing a GM is to interact and talk to players, mostly thats becoming free agent after the ongoing season, to get a vibe and smooth talk them into signing with the team as well as discussing what the players expectation is. I really miss the interaction part from a game that has it focus on being a GM.

Not right now, the historical player data isn't there that most leagues would require to determine rookie status. But we just made a big breakthrough in that area, so we'll be able to define "rookie" properly and add it as a filter once we've got the player histories in.

Which player is it that can't be sent down? I'd have to check his specific circumstances.

Scheduling for the expansion teams needs a little more work, it's on the list of things to be looked at.

No way to do loans at the moment except to your own junior/farm teams. We're looking at ways to change it. Same with additional contract options.

More player communications like that would be nice, but that's a very big project and will have to be for a future version of the game.

Question about how the dat files are created. I am in an online league and my upload is getting WAY out of hand to upload after not even 2 weeks into the sim. I have a personal.dat file that is 1.3GB now in size which is huge compared to my single player file. What is this file generated by in game, team personal who are scouting?

Wow, something's definitely going wrong there, that file's normally no more than a few MB. I'll put in a bug report on it, Malte may have some more questions for you about the league setup.

It was Rasmus Asplund. Also since the expansion new season also starts already on september 24. And couple more questions: When I expand new teams go crazy to get to at least cap floor, but don't new teams in real world have like 3 years before they must spent to least what the floor is?
Where do I find my RFA's who I don't extend but qualify their contract after July 1.?

Obviously you guys are the experts on your software, and I am not. That said, I have nearly 30 years of software development and support experience, so I would like to toss a suggestion out there. The problem sounds like a corrupted file rather than a software bug. I bet if the customer were to make a current save and then restore, in reverse chronological order, from any existing saves he has, he will find the point in time where the file became corrupted.

Can't see an obvious reason for Asplund to have problems being sent down, since you drafted him out of Sweden and not one of the CHL leagues, we'll take a look.

Cap floor - no way of knowing how it'll work, there hasn't been an NHL expansion in the salary cap era yet. The speculation I've seen says they'll have to be at the floor by the start of the season, so a few veteran UFA's will likely get nice single-season contracts in that first year.

Easiest place to find those RFA's is on your Protected List view on the roster screen.

Some quick questions about player development:

[1]: Will a player develop better in the minors, or will he blossom much better if actually playing in the NHL?

[2]: Do the caliber of players in the minors have an affect on each other's growth? For example, will a prospect develop better if he's surrounded by skilled players (in the minors) as opposed to one who doesn't have good players around him?

[3]: Do the above mechanics (if any) also apply to the NHL as well?

My A. GM never gave Cody Porter a Q. offer but shouldn't the Player automatically become a RFA because still a Rookie because was in Minors for just one season on a one year Contract?
Also League Rules need to,be turned on from day one and editable all year round with more added to edit.
