San Jose wins 4-0. They have swept through the Western Conference playoffs, and they have repeated as West Conference champs for the first time in their history.

Hartford Whalers (129-33) vs. San Jose Sharks (136-26)

Well, what can you say about these Finals? These are possibly the two best single-season teams in the history of the NHL. The Hartford Whalers have won 12 Stanley Cups, much more than anybody else, and the San Jose Sharks have won 3. The Sharks are also the defending champions, and the Whalers won the year before.

This series is a rematch of 1955 (Hartford won), and 1958 and 1964 (San Jose won both of those). I'm going to say that with the way that San Jose has been playing, going 12-0 in the playoffs so far, the Sharks will win this series in five.

Hartford won Game 3 to take a commanding 3-0 lead, but San Jose won Game 4 to stay alive and force Game 5 back on the West Coast.

San Jose withstood an 11-run barrage by the Hartford in the 5th inning, and won by an extra point. The Sharks have kept their season alive and put the Whalers' champagne on ice for the second consecutive game.

The Whalers did not have a hit until the 6th inning when they hit a 3-run home run. After that they destroyed San Jose, forcing the Sharks to die a slow, painful death by drawing an amazing 27 walks.
