See it is a vicious circle. Until more people start watching soccer, TV companies aren't going to pay money to screen soccer in the USA, and as the Copa Libertadores wanted money from TV rights to allow Mexican teams in, the same applies to the USA.

But no US TV company is going to pay the money they want, if nobody watches the games.

they could sell spanish TV rights, but yes...I dont really see it happening any time soon either.

They need to start getting team supporters more interested in Cup competitions...I dont even remember the Fusion hosting an Open Cup game back before they were extinquished. Emphasis on the CONCACAF Cup would help as well, at least a little quip in the weekly telecast.
