A few randoms for the to-do list if I might: Heinie Mueller (1920-29) Mike Griffin (1887-98) Bobby Mitchell (1877-82) and do you have a Jack Powell (1897-1912) handy? Mine's just a bit too pale for my liking. Thanks as always. G |

Art Bader
When he made his debut with the hometown St. Louis Browns in August 1904, Art Bader was the major leagues’ youngest player at 17 years, 10 months, 315 days. At the conclusion of his big-league career, Bader was a day older. After his quick release by the Browns, Bader continued to play ball, toiling in the minors until 1910, when he abandoned the game to immerse himself in the civic affairs of St. Louis. For decades thereafter, Bader served the Mound City as a St. Louis city attorney, criminal court judge, and excise commissioner. But despite a distinguished record of public service, Art Bader lingers in memory for only one reason. For two games, he was a major-league ballplayer. - SABR bio
Redid the facegen from the same picture. Also looked at an older Art pic that was in his bio. To get rid of the newspaper print, I ahd to smooth him out but given he was only 17 when he was in the majors, that worked out okay, I think. |

Ducky H Holmes
Howard Elbert Holmes, the most colorful of all the Duckys in baseball, was born in Dayton, Ohio. His full career in the sport included catching for one major-league club and a number of minor league teams, umpiring in the minors and both major leagues, founding and managing several minor-league clubs [yes, some of the teams were named the "Ducks"], and serving in an executive position for at least one. References to his nose as an “elongated proboscis” and “big schnozzola,” as Douglas Heeren observed, suggests that it resembled a duck’s bill. - SABR article
I considered modifying the one I had in my facegen folder but when I loaded it into the facegen program, he looked like an old woman, so I just redid it from scratch. |

Kid O'Hara
Kid O'Hara played eight games for the 1904 Boston Beaneaters (even though I accidently put him on the Cardinals in the screenshot). He was at Georgetown University between 1894-1902, and so he was potentially there at the same time as a dozen other future major leaguers, the most prominent of which were Art Devlin and pitcher Doc White.
How did I not know my alma mater produced turn-of-the-century baseball talent? I like to think I passed out on the same hallowed steps of Healy Hall 100 years after Kid and his mates. ![]() Not sure how the before facegen got so pink, so I made a new one. |

It's funny, when I was setting up my ACBA the Hoyas were going to be the team I managed, mainly because I actually have a collection of the plants here in Sydney.
Sadly it just didn't fit in with the structure and Hofstra got the nod, but G-town will be making an appearance down the track. |

Jack Hannifin
Jack Hannifin played all over the field in his brief three year career. In looking for information about him (there was virtually none), I stumbled upon the following book "The Baseball Necrology: The Post-Baseball Lives and Deaths of Over 7,600 Major League Players and Others". So, if you ever curious what became of someone, this author knows. As for Jack, he passed after "following a brief illness".
The facegen program hated the available pictures. Did some heavy work on the one from bRef and then fixed the chin as the card implies it wasn't nearly as short as the photo angle has it turn out to be. Best I could do for dear Jack... |

Frank Jude
Like classmate Jim Thorpe, Frank Jude was one of many outstanding all-around athletes at the Carlisle (Pennsylvania) Indian Industrial School in the early 1900s. He was rushed to the major leagues before he was ready because teams hoped to uncover another American Indian star like the Philadelphia Athletics’ Chief Bender. - SABR bio

Glenn J Liebhardt
''Liebhardt, late of the Memphis Southern League Club, pitched his first big league game and held Detroit to three hits." - Sporting Life, October 13, 1906 issue, about Liebhardt's first game on October 2, after winning 35 games for Memphis that season
Glenn Liebhardt pitched four years in the majors for the Cleveland Naps, posting good ERA's in the first three of the years. He won 18 games in 1907 and his ERA was sixth in the league. His son Glenn Liebhardt also pitched in the American League. - bRef Bullpen wiki Same facegen, just touched it up Last edited by LansdowneSt; 08-05-2021 at 08:05 AM. |

ID Correction
Quote:
The photo on the left is Bob Rhoads. I'm in the process of correcting many ID issues with Baseball-Reference but it takes them a long time to upload my photos. I have attached a genuine Cleveland image of Liebhardt for your project. |

Many thanks, cinemaodyssey!
As I touched up the facegen, it looked to have been made from the other photo (on the right, though I will delete Bob's photo shortly hereafter). It's also a spitting image of his son. I'm going to keep the facegen unaltered given those facts - and eyeballing it, it looks like the one you posted. Thanks so much again, for the timely correction! |

Frank Oberlin
Frank Oberlin’s major-league pitching record was 5-24. He was 2-8 for the Boston Americans and 3-16 for the Washington Senators. As a batter, he hit for a .104 average, again somewhat better for Boston (.154 in 26 at-bats) than for Washington (.078 in 51 at-bats.) He drew one base on balls for both teams, bumping up his career on-base percentage to .138 over the four years of his career in the big leagues. Defensively, Oberlin was a little lacking, too, with 12 errors in 85 chances, for a lifetime .859 fielding percentage.
Oberlin was also an “expert in fancy needle work.” At some point, in an unrelated development, he lost the index finger on his pitching hand; he “got in contact with a buzz saw and pitched better ball after it healed than before.” After his passing, his niece recalled that he had been called “Flossie” in at least one newspaper clipping because he liked to stay in his hotel room and embroider. The Oberlins’ house always contained embroidered and crocheted articles made by him. - SABR bio Cleaned up the bRef picture and used it for a new facegen as I had none in my folder |
