Races with a week to go
A few playoff races remain, the closest being the FL Midwest with Columbus and Green Bay and the FL Wild Card where Dayton, Staten Island and Edmonton are battling for the 3rd spot.
Columbus and Green Bay meet in the season's final 3 games. Over in the CL it's really just one race left, for the 3rd Wild Card and Baltimore is on the verge of sewing that one up, 3 up with 8 to play. Both leagues Save leaders are up for grabs, with 5 guys having a real shot. The CL Stolen Base title has 3 players in it, and the FL ERA race is a battle of 3 guys having dominating seasons. RJ has sent a new single season K record in the FL, and needs 10 more to tie Bryant Thomas for the IBL record of 332. Buffalo's Roberto Martinez (veteran readers may remember this guy!) tossed a shutout yesterday, for his 9th win. He's 9-21, the 21 losses ties the single season record. Stan Hall (ALK) Luis Martinez (SI) and Jesus Romano (NY) all have 6 shutouts, tying the single season record, and all have at least 1 start left. RJ's 5.14 H/9 is a new record, breaking Brandon Webb's 5.70 in 2028 Jorge Palacios has k'd 12.827 per 9, breaking his 2025 record of 12.750 RJ's .1649 OPP AVG is a new record as well, breaking Brandon Webb's .1788 of 2028. Chris James (PHI) struck out a record 212th time yesterday, breaking his 2030 record of 211.

2031 Wild Card Game 1s
Both 7 seeds win, with the Yankees dominating Green Bay.
Not for nothing, but it's starting to feel a big magical as far as Staten Island is concerned.

GAME 7s
2031 Wild Card Game 7's
I'll once again sim the date and follow along, giving scoring updates from around the league for the Wild Card Game 7s. Baltimore at Boston and New York at Columbus kick it off, Pittsburgh at Fresno is the late game. New York jumps on Columbus, Mauro Ibarbia with a 2 run double and Mike King with his own double, scoring Ibarbia, 3-0 after 2 in Columbus. 0-0 into the 4th in Boston. The Bombers Jeff Maggs hits a solo HR in the 4th to make it 1-0 Boston. George Tanner (COL) hits a 2 run homer, and Stephen Lewis follows with a solo shot to tie it 3-3 in Columbus. Manny Rodriguez hits a 2 run shot for the Knights in the 5th, 5-3 New York after 5. Manny Cruz doubles, putting Boston up 3-0 after 5. A wild pitch makes it 5-4 New York, and 3 hitters later Nacho Valencia doubles in 3, giving Columbus a 7-5 lead. A Walt Peeler single brings the Knights within 1, they trail 7-6 after 7. Nick Grant singles in a run to give Boston a 4-0 lead. Jesse Sanders (BOS) has gone 7.2 IP 9 H 9 K 0 ER and closer Dave McIntyre retires the final out, and Boston shuts out Baltimore to move on. Orlando Perez gets the final 3 outs in Columbus, and the Clippers eliminate the Knights 7-6. Pittsburgh's Dale Harrison homers to lead off the game, 1-0 after 1 in Fresno, Bulldogs lead. In the 2nd a Grizzly error makes it 2-0, and 2 hitters later a 2 run single from Bob Whitley makes it 4-0 after 2, Pittsburgh. T.J. Miller has gone 5 IP 5 H 0 ER in Fresno, 4-0 Pittsburgh after 5. The Bulldogs Ernesto Martinez hits a 2 out 2 run homer in the 7th, 6-0 Bulldogs. A passed ball in the 7th finally gets the Grizzlies on the board, 6-1 after 7. Lorenzo Bermudez slams a 2 run homer in the 8th, making it 6-3 Pittsburgh. Heading to the 9th. Michael Wheeler comes in to retire Andre Blakeway for the game, and series, final out. Pittsburgh wins 6-3. 2031 Division Series Matchups
Las Vegas is an overwhelming favorite to come out of the Coastal. They dominated the Roughriders in the regular season and their rotation is rested and lined up
11-11 in the season series sums up these two. Won't be shocked with either team winning, but I'm hoping for a good series. Check out Mario Vazquez. That's not a bug, those are his numbers vs Alaska, he was acquired by Alaska late in the year. Clearly Alaska is the HUGE favorite not just in this series, but Staten Island's Luis Martinez and their SP might give the Avalanche a run. Columbus dominated the Iron Pigs in the regular season. Dave Treffen couldn't make an out. They'll need to keep hitting and shut down playoff veteran Luis Chavez.

2031 Division Series Game 1s
The Iron Pigs just demolish Howard and the Clippers in Columbus to take the series lead.
Stan Hall wins his IBL record 39th playoff game (in 54 starts) to move to 39-9 2.91. Pittsburgh destroys Boston and in Las Vegas Houston pulls off a HUGE upset of the 51's, in Las Vegas, to leave, at worst, with a 1-1 split.

2031 Division Series Game 2s
Columbus evens up Chicago, Alaska gets 9 K's from RJ and 2 HR's from Aguilar to go up 2-0.
Boston ties their series and Vegas gets square with Houston, before heading there.

Alaska ends it quickly behind series MVP Stan Hall.
Chicago is a loss away from elimination and T.J. Miller's gem evens that series. Vegas now in command 3-1.

2031 Division Series Game 5s
The Clippers now get the unenviable task of Alaska...
Vegas puts Houston away rather easily and Boston's Adam Shirley throws a gem to get them a win away from the LCS.
