Ralph Brooks HW

Ralph Brooks was known as the young western heavyweight sensation, and champion of the southwest. He was the Heavyweight Champion of the Allied Army of Occupation from 1919-1920. In the army he engaged in over 40 bouts, results were mostly knockouts, over the worlds leading boxers. Pictured here is Brooks posing opposite Greb before their fight in 1925.

Hopefully someone has or can find a better pic of this guy.

Jofre,

I followed your advice with Joe “Wildman” Velmure, going from large to small and the picture was no longer symmetrical. Only the upper left corner was visible. Is there a step I’m missing?

Thanks for your help, I just did Charley Polite and it worked. I'm not sure what everything does in the Resize Box, but I used the down arrow in the width box and it worked ok. I worked out with Velmure in the West End Gym. He was a very nice person.

They came from a Gene Tunney training camp photo I found on the net a while back. Mays and Warren [along with Billy Vidabeck] were in camp to act as sparring partners for Tunney. Took me a while to get them cut out and looking half decent.

Here is Billy Vidabeck-a LHW who I never bothered to try and rate.

Here is a rare but fuzzy find. First likeness I've ever seen of Tommy "Stocking" Conroy, heavyweight who tangled with Ed Dunkhorst, Gus Ruhlin, Peter Maher, etc.
